Shedding can affect their appetites somewhat but only eating 3 to 6 worms a day is no where near enough for a baby. Wax worms are very addictive for beardies and are like candy for them. Is there a particular reason whey you decided not to feed anymore crickets? You can order all sizes online rather than feeding the adult size that he was getting before. What greens are you feeding him?

Did you decide what you're gonna do about a thermometer and different UVB light yet?

We just spent 300 on getting this set up ... new lights have to wait. We have been taking him out in the morning and letting him sun for a little bit, so we are hoping that helps. We didn't take him off crickets, he just doesn't want to chase them :/ he is also not eating any worms today :( he eat some squash off his nose and we got him some appetite and energy inhancing medicine from pet store and he has taken some of that off his nose too. how should we be feeding it to them? right now we put them on his basking log with him and every now and then he will eat one but not today :( is there a better way to feed him or get him to eat? oh and he is fat and active just not eating much.

I know, it's very flustrating and expensive when you end up with some of the wrong setup items. All of us have gone through this in the beginning. Is the UVB you have now a coil or compact UVB bulb? Is he opening his eyes or still keeping them closed? If still closing them and it is a coil or compact like, would be a good idea to turn the UVB off for at least 2 to 3 days to see if you notice any difference in him.

Taking him out for sunshine is a good idea, make sure he has a leash on because if something scares them, they can run very fast & some members have lost beardies that way.

If you have a Walmart near you, they have the AcuRite brand digital with probe thermometer that will give you both the basking & cool side temp at the same time as well as the humidity level and it only costs about $12.00. Here is a picture of what it looks like: http://www.amazon.com/Chaney-Instruments-Acu-Rite-Thermometer-Humidity/dp/B001BO8CUE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1342378424&sr=8-8&keywords=acurite+probe If you could tell us the size of the tank and the wattage of the heat bulb(s) you're using, we might be able to judge if it might be too much wattage or not enough for that size tank.

What is the appetite and energy enhancing medicine that you got him?

What greens are you offering him? Another thing you could do is pick up some chicken & squash baby food and mix some of those together and put drops on his nose for him to lick off. You can mix a small amt of calcium in with the baby food too so that he is able to get that into his system, that's very important. I also recommend the frequent baths for a while.

Bulb not coil. Eyes are always open now :)

Fluker's ReptoPlus Boost.

We have put dandelion leaves in front of him, but that's it. Like I said, he doesn't really leave his perch unless we move him ourselves.
He isn't lethargic, now, but he doesn't run around. He might turn to watch us or keep an eye on us when we walk in, but that's it.

For breakfast, he had one large waxworm, some of the fluker's boost supplement, and some baby food squash with calcium in it. He hasn't wanted to eat at all since then and it is now 3 in the afternoon here.

Recently, we read that his loss in appetite might be due to the fact that he is in a huge glass tank. So, as per suggestion, we now have cardboard paper around all but one wall of his tank to see if that helps him. So far, it hasn't. We took out all his climbing toys and tried to give him a worm and some crickets, but he just ran around. When we put his perch back in, he ran up and stayed. My husband mashed up some ZooMed Natural Juvenile Bearded Dragon Food with the reptoplus boost and the dragon ate a tiny bit off his finger.

We are thinking that we are feeding him wrong or something ... Ideas?
He has definitely filled out since we got him on Thursday, but, from what we are reading here in the forums, he isn't eating as much as he should be, nor is he interested in hunting down his food.

we realize that we need the other bulb but right now we can't afford anymore.. If we could we would.. he is doing better just not eating right now. We found online on many different sites that he/she is not eating because he/she is going through a shed right now and that can happen. well we are sticking it out he/she isn't losing weight right now and we offer crickets wax worms and different veggies every day about 4 times a day so ya we will see. oh and we can't take him to a vet where we are because well we know more then them I was telling them stuff I knew and they were saying I didn't know that. So ya we will see how this goes I guess.

It looks like you have the compact bulb, not the coil. Are you taking him out daily for sunshine or every other day? I would HIGHLY recommend turning off that compact bulb and like foolsgold said, he would be better off without any UVB in his tank rather than continuing to use that dangerous one.

It's very important that he get some food into him, especially protein. Babies can not survive very long without protein. Shedding can affect their appetites a little bit but a little but he should still be wanting to eat something on his own. You might want to pick up some chicken baby food & mix that with some squash to see if you can get him to lick it off his nose. The chicken baby food will help with the protein intake. Is he eating the Repta-Boost daily? It's also very important that he gets calcium 5 days a wk which you can mix with baby food or the Repta-Boost.

Make sure that when you check the basking temp that the probe is actually touching (laying on) the long itself rather than sticking up in the air in order to get an accurate reading.

He is in a 20 gallon tank now? You don't use the red bulb at all right now, correct? In the domes are the 100 watt basking bulb and the compact UVB? Or is the UVB in the longer hood?

UVB is the longer hood.. We use the red bulb only when his temps drop in his tank then we use the red one to warm it back up.. Does the red one effect him???????? if so then we will stop useing it.. anyway if I turn the UVB light off he won't move but when the UVB is on he will move around in his tank a bit.. and yes he is in a 20 gallon tank.. everything we have for him are in the pictures it is what came with the kit.. He is alot more energetic then when we first got him but he will not eat anything he will lick baby food off his nose rarely.... We don't know why he is not eating but everything we have found online and what the two vets I have talked to even though they don't know much said the same thing that his shedding is the cause for the not eating and that he can go several days without food but if it goes beyond that that we have to force him to eat to live.. So we are doing everything we can to help him out.. :( unfortuneatly it almost seems like he dosn't want to eat anything we present. When I go to his tank to check on him he will run to the glass and wait for me to put my hand in then will jump on my hand and climb up my arm a bit before I pull him out for his bath or baby food.. i am guessing this is a good thing.. As far as the sun light goes we take him out on nice days but if they are not nice and are cold we don't take him out.. If anyone has questions about our setup plz refer to the pictures and other posts on here I am greatful for everyones help but i am being asked the same things over and over plz read other posts for your answers ty :banghead:

Everyone is just concerned and trying to help especially since he is so small, no-one means for you to have repeat your responses, including me so if you'd prefer me to not ask or recommend any further, that's ok, I guess it's annoying you.

I'm sorry, we're just getting frustrated with the whole thing. We called the dealer to get breeder info and they said to go to trireptile.com. Well, the only thing we can find is that trireptiles owes some company money and they don't have a site up and going, so we're absolutely stuck. Again, didn't mean to be snappy, just having a hard time with this little guy :(

WOOT! we have some success Bonnie is eating a little bit now not much but she is eating something.. won't touch the greens we try and feed her. and won't eat the crickets unless I kill them most of the way first.. *shrug* don't know what that means but hey it is some progress.

It isn't albino, it means that it just molted and the exoskeloton hasn't hardened/darkened up yet. It is safe to feed it.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
