Reptiworms

Hey again To separate the worms from the substrate they come in, I use one of those sand filtering thingymabobs they sell at petco for 10 bucks. Take of the lid on your worms, dump some of them into your little wire basket sand filtering thingy and shake gently over the lid. Return the substrate to the worms' container. Then I take the worms and put them into an empty container with some Retivite with D3 in it. Shake gently, and serve ) Not only do you not have to touch the things, but you get a good count on what you are giving them.

I'll see if I can get a pic of the repti and phoenix worms taken and uploaded when I get home tonight from work.

Like I said, the price was identical. Phoenix worms came down a lot recently which is why I bothered to try them out against reptiworms. The little calcium bombs used to be as expensive as wax worms over there which was ludicrous. Hey... maybe I should start breeding wax worms and selling them at reptiworm prices. Wonder what would happen...

This is true but, Phoenix has quite the reputation, they back their larvae substrate 110%. I have found that Phoenix worms do surprise me sometimes when I open them up and find a few that are larger then the diameter of a penny. I have yet to find a Reptiworm of the same stature. But, all in all you are right. :wink:

Well that answered one of my questions. I was started to feel a little trapped by all the worm names, at least now I know the two of them are the same thing.

Another question, hope OP does not mind, what vitamin do you use? I have yet to be able to find one at any petstore. If you are feeding black soldier fly larvae as well as crickets should they be dusted in calcium or will the larvae offer enough that calcium dusting becomes a mute point?

These are all the same, they are all BSF larvae
