Repti-sun housing o MVB in ceramic fixture

I am looking at moving to a Repti-sun 10 for my beardie and need help with the fixture that holds the bulb.

What type of ballast is required to use with a timer for instant on
Where do you get the fixture ends that hold the actual bulb and provide power

Do you just scavenge parts from a shop lite or is something else better to use.

Either that or I move to a Mega Ray SB100 and just put that in a ceramic clamp lamp.

Over time which would be cost effective.....

20 per Repti-sun bulb for ~12 months
50 per Mega-Ray bulb for ~18 months

I found my light fixture at walmart.. But if you are building into the enclosure, we went to lowes and found ours, we are going to have to wire it somehow though.

Went to Home Depot today and talked to a customer "electrician" that was there.

I can use a T12 fixture but I will need to replace the ballast to an electronic one that controls 2 T8 bulbs. The fittings are the same the only difference is the thickness of the bulb 1" versus 1.5"

He also stated I can just disassemble the fixture to scavenge it for the parts. I will check lowes before I go to a scavenge process then I will either use a Reptisun 10 with a another tube that is a 5000K light and then a Halogen from ReptileUV since they seem more efficient and generate just as much heat and light.

Or I use the Megaray EB60 with a 70 watt halogen and then a 5000K bulb for the tank and be done with it. The price of the Megaray is what kills me. Plus then I would need a new ceramic fixture since mine is a 8.5" and they recommend a 10"
