Imcurrently treating my BD for coccidia and pinworms with albon and panacur. I've still got about a week of albon treatments left and 3 treatments of panacea over the next 3 weeks. Can I give him reptaid during this treatment without harming/overmedicating him?

If the albon/panacur doesn't cure the coccidia/pinworms what are the chances that reptaid will do what these drugs couldn't?

I have been reading throuhg all the posts and haven't found this yet so I am going to ask....

Can you use reptaid along with a panacur and albon treatment?

My girl currently has coccidia and pinworms and I have the meds from the vet, so I am wondering if I can use reptaid along with these to help her from getting so wiped out by the meds???

Personally I'd just finish out the med's since you have already started them. I'm not sure about giving the med's and Reptaid at the same time or what affect it may have to their systems.
Are you also giving a probiotic with the Albon? Often the vet doesn't suggest it or prescribe them, but it will help by replacing the good gut flora so they don't get such a tummy ache.

Hello,
I just have a question about the Reptaid. I have a male Beardie that has been treated for pinworms and also a infection. He was having allot of spots of blood in his stool every time he went, nothing had seemed to help him until he went on Baytril. He has been on baytil for almost 2 1/2 weeks and he doesn't always show blood anymore, just a few spots now and then. Everything else about him is fine, activity, appetite, only thing is hes just been a little sleepy. Hes been to he vets(5 times, hes had x-rays and ultra sound), but I'm running out of baytril and I don't wanna keep him on it too long. I was wondering if I should try Reptaid first to clear out the infection, or should I bring him back to the vet to get more?

I don't wanna make this sound like I don't want to bring him back to the vets or anything because I care allot about him and always will bring him at the sight of any illness, I just was wondering if something more natural would be better for his body to help it clean it's self out. Thank you all for your help! :D

No I'm not giving a probiotic, we just started yesterday!

Where do I get a probiotic?????

Hey you can get a pro-biotic from online or possibly at a local pet store, if waiting is an issue. I'd try Bene-bac, from what I've heard its one of the best and is relatively inexpensive.

hi guys,

well Reptaid! i have bought it as the XL size for my beardie (600g) but i feel its been a waste of time and money, no change in him at all, still not eating even after 2 lots of 10 doses as stated on the bottle. This has been my second time of buying it and it did not work when i bought it the first time round when he was younger. It might be just my beardie but i definatley wont be trying it again in a hurry.

Since our lizard Riza's parasites didn't go away the first time, we retreated her with a stronger dose of Albon(vet prescribed) and after those 5 doses, I waited a few days and restarted her and my other dragon each for parasite treatment...
Scout(my other guy) has had loose, runny, and pretty smelly stools for awhile. First fecal I got for him in January came back with no parasites, which was good, but awhile after the stools were runnier and worse.
WEdnesday will be the end of the first 10 days for him and Riza and already his stools are noticably firmer and not as smelly. Riza's had always been fine, but she has/had parasites... she gets another fecal in April.
Riza's colours are very nice now that she's shed(and still working on her face and legs), but she appears to be a silvery blue colour with orange on her back a bit and a very orange beard.

Scout seems to have a bit more colour in his face and he's pretty yellow. :3
I've seen no negative effects and have been keeping them well hydrated.
I started just giving them each a couple drops from the eye dropper that also serves as the lid and that seems to work better than measuring it out.(I know I should, but I've seen no negative effects and they seem as good as ever.)

I'm pretty pleased with it. I'll be more pleased if Riza's next fecal comes back clean, though. XD

That's too bad that the Reptaid didn't make any difference at all. How is your beardie doing now? Did you contact a vet?

I'm curious to try Reptaid out for Sartharion. He's almost 7 months old now but starting about a month ago he suddenly stopped eating almost all together. Instead of close to 100 reptiworms a day or about 20 dubias, he'll have maybe 3-5. The only thing he will really willingly eat is hornworms, but I don't want him to get used to those, I'm mostly using them right now just to get something in his tummy.

I've been to the vet who said he seemed healthy, fecal was clean, said my setup/temps sounded good. Sartharion is acting like his usual self in everything except the eating. After some thinking and talking with a few people I believe what may have happened is it got too cold in his tank a few nights in a row and it's caused him to slow down. I've since remedied that problem with a CHE to keep it around 80 in the tank at night, and while that seemed to help for awhile this past week he's gone back to barely eating again. Would the reptaid help with this at all? If it could, how many doses a day would be recommended?
I might get some anyway, it sounds like a useful product to have on hand.

3 days into Reptaid treatment for Mika and Reptaid XL for Lagu, Lagu's poops are starting to look better already, they're forming up and there is a membrane. Must be a good sign. Mika had the poo to end all poo's today and it, too looked really well formed! So far, so good!

Just got my reptaid in the mail, again. Last time I used it both of my beardies improved. One of my babies was really sick from albon and panacure....I think I was told by and admin that the vet dosed my little baby way too much, he turned into a twig and I had to nurse him back to health. I bought Reptaid then and it helped him out so much, his appetite was coming back. I also gave it to my beardie I got in 09, I sent his fecal in and it was CLEAR! I hadnt hadnt sent his fecal in before the doses, but I wanted to see if that stuff worked...and if it came out positive then I would know. But it came out clear and healthy as can be.

Anyway, my boy Chuy has had really watery/splat-like stools and I had no idea why. They were a bit smellier too than normal recently. So, I gave him a dose this morning and later in the day during his bath he had a NORMAL poo. It was intact! Now, I dont know if this was because of the meds in only one dose, but he hadnt had a normal one in a while, why now?

All im saying is, with my babies I have followed the doses, I kept them hydrated, and I have never seen any negative effects with Reptaid. Mind you, with any medication there can be side effects, its a chance you take. But I know it works for my boys and they love the taste! I put the syringe in their mouth and they get mad, but once I let them taste it they quit fighting it and slurp it up willingly.

I also want to say, if you are having a serious issue with your beardies health you should go to the vet asap. Vets are there for a reason! :) I just wanted to share my personal experience with the product....that is all.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
