Renewing UVB light

Hi all, my beardie has had his uvb light for almost 12 months now so it needs changing. I've ordered him a new Arcadia 12% t5 tube but just checked and my Arcadia controller is a t8 controller. Will this matter or do I need to replace the controller to a t5? Thanks
