Kaleen,
I did make a new thread, but Gina unlocked my old one for me too. I went into a lot more detail with my update on the old one.

It has been a rough weekend in our home.. Sadly our female gecko Lulu passed away on Saturday afternoon. I am absolutely heartbroken and a complete mess. She was such a diva and a little spitfire.. I feel horrible and responsible, I wish so badly we could have saved her.. I will not go in to details on what happened because it is absolutely horrific, it was not a peaceful passing and I am doing everything I can to put it out of my mind and know Lulu is in a better place no longer suffering. Basically the vet believes she had a blockage form in her stomach or intestines and when she went in to shed and tried to eat it like most geckos do it all went horribly wrong... Nothing led up to this as she was eating and pooping just fine, and the vet said there's nothing we could have done to save her... Lulu passed in the car on the way to the emergency vet... In time I will say more and make a nice memorial for her..

Kaleen, I am so sorry to hear about Lulu. I'm sure you would've done everything you could've to save her and make her well again.
She just didn't understand that that mass wasn't supposed to be eaten. It was a pure accident.

May Lulu rest in peace.

Kaleen,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately no words anyone can say will help. Only time can do that. Just know you are in my thoughts.

Thank you all so so much for your kind words and thoughts for Lulu. I have been doing better each day until I went in the garage and there was her cage.. I told Jeffrey there is no way I can clean it out or take it apart, we are just going to have to get rid of the whole thing as is..he agrees with me...
PeeWee definitely knows his Mama is hurting, he's been very loving and sweet these last few days. All he wants is cuddles and kisses, during his playtime he doesn't want to go explore as usual. He chooses to sit on me and watch the world go by! He's a very intuitive little dude, such a sweet boy!
A really cool thing happened today. I was coming home from treatment today and I was entering the house through the garage. As I got close to the door I saw something moving out of the corner of my eyes. When I turned my head to take a closer look I noticed right next to Lulu's cage there was a little tiny leopard gecko. At first I thought it to be a baby leopard gecko someone had released or lost. I crouched down close to him(don't know the actual sex) and he didn't run from me. I put my hand out to him very slowly and he came right up to me, he was just about to climb in my hand when a large bird flew past and scared him. I decided I might try to give him some mealworms. I showed them to him from far away first and he seemed very interested, almost certain he knew it was food. I tossed one close to him and he gobbled it up. Then I started just placing them closer and closer till he was pretty much eating out of my hand. Well I got too confident and tried to touch him and boy was he not having that.  He let out the cutest little hiss and bit my finger. I held still and waited for him to let go of my finger, and slowly moved my hand to back in front of him, and he waited for the next worm. Basically he let me know he could touch me on his terms, but I was not to touch him. After the worms were gone we sat across from one another just staring for a while. Then he came up to my hand again, licked the finger he bit earlier, looked up at me and then walked away. As he was walking away I noticed he was definitely not a leopard gecko, his tail was pretty long and I believe he was more of a wild house gecko. I also thought to myself Lulu must have sent him to me... Maybe he was in need of some food to get him by for a while and Lulu knew I would help him and he would help me. Or maybe I'm crazy and it was just a really awesome coincidence! I'm pretty sure he's living in our garage and that is just perfect with me!!

Awww, what a great experience that was, hope you'll be able to get close to him again. It must be interesting to have wild geckos around, too cold up here for that. I'm glad PeeWee has been extra loving with you, he really understand his Mama's moods, he's such a good boy!

Kaleen, your post just about had me in tears, both in sadness and pure joy.

PeeWee is such a smart boy. He probably knows you better than you know yourself, both emotionally and physically. Knowing that you were still sad over the loss of Lulu, he wanted to comfort you in every way possible even if it meant sitting on you all day long. What an absolute sweetheart.

Wow, what an experience with the gecko! I am sure that Lulu guided him to you, and not just for wormies. I mean, what wild animal would allow someone to get that close without hesitation. Amazing, just amazing!

What a beautiful story, Kaleen! I truly believe Lulu helped out that little friend and sent him your way for some munchies and a little company! Very sweet, you know Lulu is looking out for others, such a sweet little angel.

Hey, sorry it's been so long.. I really haven't been in a good mood since Lulu's passing and I just didn't want to be a debby downer for everyone.. Some good things are happening in our house, PeeWee is in a full body shed finally!! He's such a grump right now, but he seems to be getting through the shed pretty quickly. As soon as he's done I'll have to post some photos so you can see how big he's gotten.. Again if you want to be more updated with photos Facebook is a lot easier for me.. We decided to turn our guest bedroom in to the reptile room, and since doing so when the beardies have their playtime they actually spend their time playing and exploring rather than black bearding and head bobbing at one another. PeeWee used to never leave the couch, now he literally runs all over the house. Every 10-15min or so he comes back to the couch to say hi Mom and then off he goes again.. It's so funny, I keep all the doors closed down the hall so he can't get in to too much trouble. Believe me he still finds a way to get in to the weirdest situations, if he doesn't come back to the couch after 15min that's when I get up and go look for him.. One time I found him in the kitchen trying to climb the leg of a chair and got stuck halfway up hahahaha.. Then I found him hanging on the dish towel on the front of the oven! Nothing is off limits for Pees!! When he's not busy getting in to trouble he takes time to comfort me and give kisses and hugs.. He definitely knows how much Momma misses Lulu and makes sure he gives me plenty of love. It's almost like he's trying to make me laugh sometimes, or he just sits next to me doing cute little things to get me to smile. I love my beardies they really make my world go round. Sunny also makes sure her Momma is okay.. All she wants to do lately is snuggle and cuddle. She bearded Jeffrey the other night when he took her out of the bed all snuggled up with me to put her back in her house, she was not having it!! I am very lucky to have the beardies I do! All of them are so loving and really give Jeffrey and I back as much love if not more than what we give them!!

It's amazing how something so small can get inside your heart and tare it apart when they're gone. I miss Lulu so much it hurts...

I'm glad PeeWee and Sunny and the rest of your crew are helping you with LuLu's loss. It takes a long time to get over the grief and just have the memories. I went throught it with Issy, Angel and Sweetie so my heart goes out to you with complete understanding. Hope all else is going well for you, though!

Titan is growing & eating me out of house and home, he had parasites but one session with Baytril got rid of them. He eats so much, I can't get over it as it's been awhile since I've had a juvie. I figure he must be 9 mo old now, still too small but getting there. He's now 16" long and last he weighed 256 but he's got more weight than that on him. When I first brought him home, he waved at everything, now that he's feeling more comfortable, he black beards, bobs and stamps his foot at everything. Titan puffed up with his small back beard is so funny to watch. Right now he's bobbing me because he's hungry. He's become the King of his house, while Didi is the King of the Ramp. I still haven't set up the new tank and lights, even though everthing is in, just not on the kitchen table yet. Titan is going to stay in Didi's old tank and Didi is going to get the new tank & furniture. He's always on the ramp anyway, so this will work out better. I like Titan to interact with the ones that are running around the living room and once the tank is up, he'll get his chance to run around, too. So that's my life right now!

Wow! I am glad Titan is doing so well, I knew he would with you!! It's amazing how quickly these wonderful creatures take over your house isn't it?! One day they are timid and shy, and then the next they are king of the castle!! Titan sounds a lot like PeeWee's personality type, he wants it his way or no way at all! If PeeWee could talk his favorite word would be "mine"!!
Thank you for your kind words, grief is hard. I am trying to remember the good times and how she made me smile and laugh, but then the guilt sets in. I wish I could've done more for her.. Poor Lulu..

Kaleen, I know that guilt very well, and it's because I do that I have to tell you that you did everything humanly possible for Lulu. If only love cured all . . .

I so agree Gina, I felt guilty for a long time about Sweetie, thought I could have done something different, then realized that I couldn't, but if love could cure all, wouldn't it be a wonderful thing!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
