Well it happened....again!! hahaha This makes beardie number 3. She's absolutely beautiful she's super citrus baby. We actually ended up rescuing her from the shop we always go to. She wasn't thriving and is a bit under weight and size. She needs a loving home to take care of her, so we stepped up and they gave us a deal we couldn't pass up. Her parents are both bright yellow with purple side bars, so we know she's going to be beautiful. It was totally unexpected, but we couldn't leave her there knowing she needed help. We've named her Chloe, and she's super sweet. She would rather be held and hang out on you than in her cage which is just adorable. Her face is so sweet, and her color is already amazing. She's a little dark tonight with relocation stress, but we've got her all set up and she ate a little bit for us. I think our little Chloe is going to be very happy with us. One cute thing that happened, I brought our female Sunny who is my fat princess over to see Chloe(she was seeing her through glass) and they both started waving at each other and licking the glass. Maybe someday when they're both close in size they can have a supervised meeting. Our male Frank was not impressed at all hahaha!! I'll get pictures up tomorrow morning I promise, lights are out and I want her to settle in.

Thank you she is very sweet! Chloe pooped early this morning and is alert and active, but I can't get her to eat. She ate 4 worms yesterday when she got settled in to her cage, I know it's relocation stress but man do babies make you worry!
Well I won't make you wait any longer, we took some pictures of her. Please I know she's skinny and needs to put on weight, so don't yell at me. If you have any suggestions I want to hear them!

The first one is with the flash on so you can see how bright she is!! So hopefully I'll continue to add more as she grows!

Very nice! She is so little as you stated, I'm sure you will fatten her up quick. My Palmer's relocation stress took a lot longer than my Coopers. Catching up ......not so much. lol Congrats she is a cutie

Thank you! Hopefully she'll eat more for us tomorrow. She got a clean bill of health, and she pooped twice today!! I'm such a worry wort though, if she doesn't eat more these next few days I'll come up with a new game plan. I forgot what it's like to have a baby and worry about every little thing hahaha, I hate and love it at the same time...

Well an update on Baby Chloe. She didn't poop today, but she did go twice yesterday. She ate salad for me today which consisted of kale, and bok choy dusted with vitamins. Also she ate a wax worm dusted with calcium for me too. I offered her crickets again today and I didn't see her touch a single one. I gave her another bath today, she seems to enjoy them and swimming around. She needs to gain weight and get protien, if anyone has any suggestions on how to get her to eat more please help. I know relocation stress plays a factor in this as well. We've only had her for 2 days and relocation stress can last a while, but she needs to gain weight and start eating. Please help me.

At this point I'm just updating this for myself, unless anyone is actually reading this?! I have zero experience in helping a weak little beardie. Chloe has a clean bill of health, she just needs to fatten up. My other 2 beardies were pretty simple to raise, they are good eaters and always have been, they've never been picky, and they grew pretty fast. Chloe seems to be the complete opposite, but today I noticed something about her that I think will help me. She seems to be needy, in that she prefers to be babied a lot! Which is a plus because I love to spoil my beardies. I also noticed she's not very good at hunting, she misses a lot and gets discouraged hence why she's not eating a whole lot. She likes the worms because she doesn't miss, today she ate all 4 wax worms, most of her salad, and 3 crickets I know about! Hopefully the extra attention and one on one time with her will encourage her to eat more. I don't know much about roaches, but do they have ones small enough for her to eat? I could put them in a bowl and let her go to town! Also she had waaay less stress marks today and seems to be settling in a tad bit more. I'm continuing to bathe her everyday because I read that dehydration can cause a decrease in appetite. Maybe the more she hydrates the more she'll eat as well? Ugh so much to worry about with this little one, and I'm already so attached to her.

Do you have a separate smaller container you could use as just a feeding bin. I know a lot of people do that on here for their little ones. Maybe it would help, maybe :?

Thank you for the suggestion, it's a great one. We actually tried that today, and still the same outcome. I'm beginning to think she just doesn't like crickets. I was so excited yesterday when she ate a bunch thinking that today she would eat a bit more. Nope, she ate one worm, not a bite of salad, no crickets, just one measly worm :banghead: We gave her a bath today, and she drank a ton of water. I've never seen a beardie drink before, it's probably one of the cutest things I've ever witnessed! It was a good 2-3min of her drinking  We also let her run around today which she seemed to really like. Of course she had to go visit Sunny and Frank. Sunny always waves at her and licks the glass in between them, she gets excited about baby Chloe it's cute. Frank on the other hand could care less, he's in to the big ladies hahaha!! Tomorrow morning I'm going to talk to the expert at the shop we always go to, to see what I should do to get her to fatten up. I'm worried, if she doesn't start a steady weight gain she's not going to make it. It's not that she isn't eating, she just isn't eating enough! Again if anyone is reading this and has suggestions on what to do please help me..

Rosie ate similar to that when she was a baby. It may have been that she wasn't fond of crickets, but she'd only eat 8 or 9 every other day. I was worried about her but she's going to be 4 about the middle of June so she was fine. Chloe may prefer supers but as I'm not sure of her length you may have to wait a month or two. I do know you can get tiny and small supers from Mulberry Farms (in California). I used to get the smaller ones when Rosie started refusing Superworms completely because she saw Goldie speedy eating superworms. I haven't used crickets since. Rosie was about 4.5 or so months old at that time and not very big so we bought her the smaller superworms.

I don't know about roaches as neither of us want to do supers.

Chloe is only about 7 or 8 inches long, would it still be ok to order small supers for her? Thank you so much for responding, it's a great idea and I will definitely give it a shot if she can eat the smaller ones safely. I also found out today that I can't get phoenix worms in AZ because it's too hot here, so that's out. I also went and got some teeny dubia roaches for her this morning from the shop, We'll see if she likes them... This morning she ate 2 wax worms on her own and a lot of her salad! I noticed she has a little bit of a belly starting as well. I'll be so happy when she eats well, so incredibly happy!!!

Wellllll it's a no go with roaches... I've showed them to her, put her in front of the bowl, tried to hand feed her, and nothing :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm so attached to her already this is so frustrating, I just want her to thrive.

Congratulations Kaleen! She is gorgeous. Zeppelin gave me a really hard time eating a few months ago so I know what you are going through. I finally ended up syringe feeding him a mixture of chicken baby food, applesauce and acidophiliz plus. It really helped a lot. He is now eating on his own like a little piggy! I still kept offering his bugs and salad every day too while I was syringe feeding him. I know it is gut wrenching to have to worry about her, but I'm sure she will be eating like a champ soon.

Thank you Amy, I needed to hear that. I called the shop I got her from and they're going to give me a supplement for her that we'll have to syringe feed and it's supposed to jump start her appetite while she's getting vitamins and healthy stuff.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
