Ya I also did my research on tegus. I would never buy anything other then a bandw argentine because all the others are vicious and barrel roll and you can never properly tame then especially the columbian tegu I hear.

My neighbor is the reason she found out. My neighbor saw him and thought it was a alligator lol. when i bought him i paid about 300 for him he was 4 years old at that point. Had him for 2 more years then the owner found out. I couldnt sue because i was in void of contract and at that point in my life i would have had no way to find another place to live. but he went to a reptile zoo and im pretty sure had a good life i hope. I have no idea how much i spent on him but that doesnt matter to me hence the reason he was donated to the reptile zoo. anyway thats long past not a big deal anymore. i dont personally want another tegu just because with my dogs and cats i couldnt have a animal that size that would wander the house lol one of my cats my be a snack after they tried to smack him.

Ya when I get one I plan on lettimg him only roam in my room. My sister has a yorkshire terrior so if she attacked him..dead yorkie. I am getting a black and tan coonhound when I ave the fund irst tho. Because tegu starting price including all things needed is like 1000 or more. THe coonhound will murder the tegu tho so i dont want it to be near the dog. Im not a violent person or anything by the way. As I was reading this post I saw that I was writting alot of stuff about things that can be violent lol so I thought I should clarify that. I would never want animals to harm each other or anything like that. Im just saying all the potential things that can happen without me taking precations

sorry about the delay, i feed my dragons mainly crix, kale, mixed veggies(frozen and then thawed in portions), and super worms, i also occasionally feed them waxies (high in fat) and meal worms. but spike and cinder eat over 1000 crix a month between the two of them, and about a pound or two of veggies. i also dust my crix with calcium and vitamins.

Mine eats 1000 in two weeks. How can you spread that out in a month if they are supposed to eat 50 a meal let alone 2 dragons?

My two only eat 20 a piece a day on average, I go through about 250 supers a month on top of the crix, 50 adult crix at a sitting is an awful lot in my opinion. my dragons eat adult crix, I guess if I fed them smaller crix they'd eat that many. don't forget i feed my two a lot of greens on top of their protein. and i only feed them bugs in the evening, they get greens in the morning so they eat them, otherwise they ignore the greens and just eat all bugs. which gets expensive, my two did eat more bugs when they were young but i got them on greens early. the rule of thumb i go by is the eat as much as they can in 10 min rule, but i feed them 3-5 supers bfor i offer crix.

a local pet store had a bearded dragon, he was so huge, I never thought they could get that big. I was shocked. I think a previous owner gave him to the store to sell because he got too big for the owner. I wish I took a picture of it.
