Questions about growing salad stuff

With spring coming soon I was wondering what things could I grow for my two dragons? I want to do this for fun, I've grown things before and i think a small garden would be fun for mushu and yoshi when it gets warm again. What should I grow? Any fertilizer or other bag mixes? Any other tips would be appreciated.

I don't use fertilizer but I do grow some veges in the garden over the summer. Collard greens work pretty well. I've had good luck growing green beans as well. I've tried squash but it was a very small yield. It's certainly worth trying some different veges though.
