I looking at my beardie and he open's his mouth when under the basking area the temp are 90-100 cool side 80-85
he just started doing that yesterday afternoon hes also started sheeting. hes 8 weeks hes in a 40gallon tank. any ideas as in why hes is doing this? he seems to like it when i spray him a little water

sorry to double post! but hes going crazy lol running around and running at the glass trying to escape. hes not tackling the glass so hes not hurting himself just running while being still

Hi,
The 'opening' of the mouth is normal...it is called *gaping* and they do this to thermoregulate. Type in 'gaping' in the search field above and you will be comforted LOL

The second thing you describe is called *glass dancing*, also very normal There are many reasons for this and after time and careful watching you will likely learn why he is doing it most of the time.

Again, type *glass dancing* in the search field for many many wonderful and amusing stories about this very entertaining feature of the bearded dragon...I realize they don't *understand* the glass, but it is a wonderful way for us to somewhat communicate
with them!

Yeah I'll cord a video if he does it again I think he just inchy because I him a bath and he calmed down. Thanks for your help! I am a new beardie owner so I worry alot lol
