Question about parasites

I have a question. Gizmo seems really healthy. He has a good appetite, he just shed his whole body, is very active, but his poo's are very smelly. I have only had him for 2 weeks. Would it be a good idea to treat him as though he has parasites? I just bought some multivitamins with probiotics from Beautiful Dragons...will that treat the parasites if he has any?? or do I need to purchase something else?? It won't hurt him to treat him for parasites if he doesn't have them, will it? Sorry for all the questions, just confused.

Hi there,

No what you have won't treat parasites, and you should not ever just buy a parasite medicine to give unless you are 100% positive your dragon has parasites.

However if your dragons poo is really runny and stinky, its likely that your dragon does indeed have parasites. But, there is no way to know which and how many unless you get a fecal check.

Taking a fecal sample into your local reptile vet will tell you all you need to know.
