Question about lay box

I know you are supposed to have organic top soil for your lay box. I went to Lowe's and all I could find was some organic potting mix. Do you think this will be ok? I can go to Home Depot and look for the top soil but if this will work I will just use it. Thanks for any replies !

I just use sand and topsoil mixed about 50/50. Make sure there is no fertilizer added.

Thanks for the replies I guess I will just get some sand and mix with what I allready have.
