My beardie, Melody has a respiratory infection she's fighting at the time and I've got a 75 watt infrared light on her to keep her warm. However, the thing is, it's heating up the blanket she's sleeping under, to block the light, hot as in 'basking light hot' of 93 instead of 80-86. (I don't have a CHE right now because it broke at the screw part every time I ran a new one and am going to one as soon as I'm paid and can order from Petmountain.)
What are your suggestions to resolve this issue? I've got to keep her warm.
Melody's sleeping on an old foam pillow I gave her. I elevated the pillow so she's not sleeping flat as she usually does. It's just until she's well again to sleep flat and it seems to give her relief from sneezing five or six times in the morning. (I know I'm treating her like a child, but I'm thinking of all the times I had congestion and slept flat, I was miserable.) And she seems okay with it. She doesn't attempt to move or anything.
