Super worms are good for beardies over 16". There are lots of other worms that make good staples (but you should always offer a variety of feeders, anyways!) Roaches are a great feeder, but.. you can feed silkworms, horn worms, butter worms, super worms, etc.

Yes, butters, silkies, hornies, and supers are all acceptable staples (as are phoenix worms, crickets, and roaches)

waxies and mealies are really only treats. waxies are very high fat and very high phosphourus. mealies are high fat and high shell.

is he too small for supers? and what is the best site to purchase worms from? i have been looking around, alot of sites are out of butters and those horns worms are big and expensive. do i have to feed him as much of the horns? i feed him alot of the phoenix worms

I wouldn't feed him supers just yet. I'd wait til he's a little bigger. The hornworms he won't need nearly as many as he does phoenix worms. They get big, but they're soft-bodied so he'll be able to digest them easily. But since they're so big, one or two hornworms may fill him up.

I just got 25 butter worms on Wednesday, and she is taking to them perfectly. Blazey is still small, but the butters are soft and safe. She really seems to like them a lot. I'm going to add them to her diet permanently, I think.
Good luck!

If you are hurting for cash then crickets can be a pain to buy from a pet store but if you can shell out the 8-11 cents it costs to buy them, just go there every other day so you don't have to deal with breeding/handling/keeping them. Throw 10-40 in the cage and always put in green food too.
A young dragon needs to eat crickets; it's be best food for them in their first year....
Worms are cool and superworms, wax worms, mealworms are ok to feed them (reference the foodchart on this site and browse everyone's opinions to form your own) but if you have chosen to have a dragon, you have to feed your dragon crickets.

Crickets aren't a necessary part of a dragon's diet - they're just the cheapest and easiest feeder to buy that's also somewhat nutritious (as long as they're gutloaded). You can just as well raise a dragon on a combination of worms as long as you choose carefully - silkworms, butter worms, pheonix worms, and horn worms are all good options for a growing dragon.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
