Queen Meraxes - 05/08/14

When I finally found Meraxes (Mera), I had been searching for quite some time for an adult dragon in need of a loving home, but then came the ad for an apparently 6 month old dragon. The ad made up my mind for me before I even saw her in person, as according to it she was a "super healthy 6 month old dragon, eats iceberg lettuce and mealworms, 9 inches long" and as we all know everything about that screams improper husbandry. Long story short, I contacted the seller for more information. She was an unwanted gift, actually around 3 months old, who was fed freeze dried adult crickets (rarely) among a host of other things that made me :evil: so of course I arranged to go get her that very day.

This is what she looked like that first day home

I was absolutely smitten and worried to death all at the same time.

After a hard month, and a lot of TLC she looked like this

And now at around 10 months old (and finally out of semi brumation!)

I can definitely say even with a massive amount of research, nothing prepares you for the amount of worry you experience in the baby stage, nor the amount of love you receive in return.

Her colors are so bright - it looks like she was rolling around in the Cheeto powder. :lol: She is such a beautiful little lady and you are both so lucky to have found each other. She looks great.

And thank you! She's been such a blessing. Its hard to imagine life without her now.

Haha! I think the crazy is just part of the fun, I know what you mean though. Whether its worrying about her health, or wondering how she managed to poop on my favorite sweater, and pillow in the same day. :lol: Never a dull moment!

Finally ordered Mera a new harness today, in pink! Of course its impossible to go on bd.co and only order things you need. :lol:
Either way, so excited for it to warm up now. Even though she isn't exactly what you would call the outdoorsy type...

50% of her time is spent admiring herself.

The other 50% is spent making sure you admire her.

(Ignore the dial thermometer, we dont use it, but my cat likes to play with it..)

Well I'll start by apologizing for the ugly mess of broken photo links my girls thread has become, my tablet had some sort of fit and long story short every picture I had on photo bucket is gone! :evil:

Now for the good stuff, our beardeddragon.co order came in today!!! All the usual stuff like organic multi vitamins and calcium + probiotics, but this time we got a new harness for my baby! So happy with it! She might not be though....

First time wearing it, pretty in pink!

Watching cartoons and getting used to it

Ran to daddy to hangout, mom sucks for making her wear stuff.

Beard puffs (sorry for the lack of light, phone camera)

Getting much more comfortable with it.

Again sorry for the mess of broken images, I'll work on re uploading them...

I thought so! Thank you! Me too, it took awhile to get it all sorted out but it was worth it. I'm just glad I managed to find them all. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read our updates
