Hi so my beardie has these two little patches of grey on her beard and she is only 1 year old and her beard is usually orange. I haven’t noticed them getting any bigger since I first saw them which was about two weeks ago. I don’t know if I should be concerned or if she’s just maturing . Please help !
P.s all her living conditions are great including diet, humidity, substrate, and temperature .

Hello,

That is very odd! They have been there for a couple of weeks & haven't gone away?
Could it be food or not?
Is there anything she could be rubbing her beard on in the tank?
They darken their beards when they are distressed or unhappy. She looks good overall
though, great colors except for the beard area.

She has nothing in her tank that could do that she has two spots that are close to that color on her neck right behind the top of her head but she’s had those since she was a hatchling

Hi Haku, if she has purplish spots from the time she was young then it's possible that she is a paradox. Can you post more pics of the beard as well as the other spots on her neck ? That would really help. The patches can develop as the dragon gets older and can be on a small or large area. Something like this :

But like I said, I can't see your dragon's beard very well. Other than that, can the beardie get close enough to a light to jump up + get burned ? I've seen that on the forums as well.

O.K thanks, much better pics. She is definitely not a paradox , and the little patches o her shoulder are called epaulets and all beardies have them. :) The beard either has stain or some type of possible fungus [ but it doesn't look like fungus at all ] on it if you're sure she could not have been burned.

Have you tried using a toothbrush to lightly stroke it while she's being soaked ? If not, then try that. That's always the first thing to do, to try + see if it's a stain from food or poo. Is she on a loose substrate or have access to a potted plant or dirt ?

Hello,

I would try giving a bath & use a soft tooth brush to gently scrub those areas, to see if those
areas might come off.
I agree, it doesn't look fungal at all to me either.
It doesn't seem to bother her appetite then?

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
