Pre-Spring, Semi-Cranky Collection!!

Hi All,

It's been a while since I posted pictures of Sakura so I wanted to share some recent ones and also show off some additions to her home.
I noticed a pattern in the pics, she's been semi-cranky for months now so it's fitting that I try to include all the pics into a "Semi-Cranky Collection" :mrgreen:

This is also the introduction of the "Love Sock".
Idea by Ethelia, Manufactured by Dragonphoenix36, and LOVED by Sakura!! :wink:
It's a sock filled with uncooked rice.


Turned on the flash for better lighting and so the cranky marks looked more accurate to what I see daily on her..


Full viv shot. Please excuse the calcium dust on the tiles and her lack of furniture. Taking out her hide and climbing platforms is the only
way I can get her to bask lately.

You can see her stairs in the background as well as the towel that I place her hide over top of. No way my baby is laying on hard tiles
to sleep!

Different day, same cranky Sakura, same spot on her sock. She LOVES that thing!!!


Ok, getting progressively crankier as the camera gets closer..


HELLO black beard!! Not the happiest of campers at the moment.


Where is my Sakura and what have you done with her....is that a white belly?? Why must you torment me and go from happy to angry
then back again in the blink of an eye???

Well, it says "Love" all over it, plus the red hearts, plus the fact that it was made from love by her mommy, and she LOVES it.....so what else should I call it? It's the Love Sock!! :wink:

First day with the Love Sock, she's checking it out and looking back at me... "ok, so what is this? too big to eat...but it's RED!!!" :love5:

She's waiting right in the spot where her crickets seemingly fall from Heaven to her....needless to say, she wanted to eat

This was her first time trying Phoenix Worms and I added it for reference. The cup is about 4 inches by 2 inches so you can get
an idea of how little she was. (Nov 22nd 2008)

Nonsense, I only had a towel and a piece of my shirt in there for her until her mommy made the Love Sock, so don't feel bad.
Besides, I'd like to see one picture of beardies in the wild with anything cute and fluffy near them. :mrgreen:

For what it's worth, they are extremely easy to make so go ahead and give it a shot if you'd like. I bet your beardies will love them and quite possibly sprawl out on them the way Sakura does on hers.
And as a footnote, another reason it was dubbed the "Love Sock" was because of some of the poses Sakura was in when she first got used to it and decided to....mount it.
I was NOT about to post those pictures in this family oriented forum.. :lol: :lol:

Aww..thank you for posting these..you just totally made my day. :love5: Holy blackbeard, Batman!.. :shock: She doesn't do the whole black beard thing very often..so when she does it..it's still shocking to me.
Yes, I can most definitely NOT take all the credit for the "love sock"..LOL.. Holly makes them for Rube to help him get around his viv, and probably for comfort, too. She suggested I make one for playtime with Sakura when we take her out of her viv to help keep her warm while she is out..you can microwave the sock, but I just left it in her viv to get her used to it and keep it warm..I had no idea she'd like it as much as she does...LOL. Thank you Miss Holly .

Awwww Im so glad she likes her ricesock! Rube and Miso are SO attached to theirs too.
I feel so boring now though! All my rice socks are black and white.
Maybe I'll have to make a jazzy one! hehe.

Perhaps now she has grown attached to her sock James could put the sock on his lap when he tries to handle the DIVA that is Sakura?
Hopefully madame wont be so cranky.

Hello James,

Sakura is lovely! She has grown though, since you have gotten her. She sure does not like that camera does she? :laughhard: That blackbeard is for the camera.
She appears very healthy & just by looking at her face, she looks to be around 6 months, maybe 8 at the oldest. She still has a baby face too.
Her little sock is so cute & it is like she guards it too!
Her tank looks nice & bright also.

What a beautiful set of pictures, even if Ms Sakura is cranky. Shedding brings out the crankiness in our beardies, too. She really really loves her sock, what a great idea! And I like the fact that it can be warmed up if needed. I've heard about rice socks before, but I've never seen a lovlier one or one more colourful. Lucky Sakura!

Thank you Tracie for the help as well, you've totally taken away a huge amount of my stress from worrying about her. Of course Sakura has been acting wonderfully these past two days, so I'm confident that it's more about me being a worry-wort. Then again, it could be that she figured out my password and has been reading BD.org at night when she's supposed to be sleeping so she knew I was worried about her... :lol:

I can't take any credit for the Love Sock at all, but it seems like the best thing we've done for her. I can't get over how much she loves it.
I highly suggest everyone try it!!

I'm so happy I was able to get a pic of her black bearding. That's probably the 3rd time she's ever black bearded and that's definitely the darkest I'd ever seen it.
I suppose I should have mentioned that the pics go in reverse order with the newest ones first and they progressively get older.
She started her "months long cranky binge" right as she started her most recent shed. She's done with it now, but still cranky all the time, hence my getting worried.
