Potential new Beardie owner

Hello!

My name is Maggie and I'm new to the beardie world. My roommate has 3 box turtles that I've more-or-less adopted, and I have 3 cats. The more time I spend with herps the more I am loving them. I've been looking at possibly getting a beardie after finding out just how wonderful they are as pets and seeing them every time I go into my local pet store. I've located a potential 2 year old male near my home whose owner is moving out of state and can't take him with her. I'm meeting him this weekend, so hopefully it works out and I can give him a great new home. The pics she has available has him in sand, so I'm a bit concerned after reading all of the dangers about using it in a viv. Here is the picture she has on Craigslist.

Do you know how big the dragon is? It might just be the pic, but he looks a little on the small side for 2 years old.

I won't be able to know for sure until I meet him on Saturday. I'm still trying to determine if it's going to be a good fit for both of us, so I want to make sure I meet him first. The owner is willing to sell me the beardie, the stand, 55 gal tank, and all the lamps and supplies for $250 which is a heck of a deal.

How big should he be if he's a 2 year old?

I think a healthy full size bd should be 16"-24" not to sure about the weight though.

i find sand to be ok,,i know alot says its a big no no,but fine sand is better than calci sand..i feed in separate bowl,and if you dust correctly they don,t go eating sand anyway,mine just has a light covering of sand,and a deeper part were he snuggles in and goes to sleep
