Possible Rankins Dragon????

So i noticed Prometheus stayed relatively small after two months of shedding, about the same size since we've got him, and I was curious as to why, so I did my research.

Ive read Rankin's don't have "beards" and to test this theory you use a mirror and see if they puff up to br dominant, and he had not puffed out his beard at all, infact I've never seen him expand a beard even when he was scared of my dad.
He is also very skiddish, and prefers to not be held at all unless it's necessary.

I just wanted a second opionon, heres some pictures

How old is he? How long is he?
You should take a picture of the top of the head.
IMO, it is not a rankins. IIRC, Rankins do not have as big of beard spikes.

Hi there....he's just a bit of a slow grower but not a Rankin's. An adult Rankin's would be only 10" long. What exactly + how much do you feed him ? He should eventually hit a growth spurt. At any rate, he looks happy + healthy and has a very pretty pattern. :)

IMO, it does not appear to be a rankins, just a slow growing beardie.

what kind of uvb lighting do you have him under? how hot does his basking spot get? what and how much are you feeding him?

I feed him about 6-12 BSFL daily and collard greens twice a week

Is it a tube or a compact coil? if it is a tube, is it a t5 fixture or a t8 fixture? What are you using to get your basking temps?

At that age, you should be feeding your bearded dragon live feeders 2-3x daily, as many as they can eat in a 10-15 minute period. I alternate between dubia and BSFL but they typically eat 10-30 insects per feeding, 3x a day as juvies.

I agree, you can increase his live food to 2 feedings a day if not 3 and he should start growing a bit faster. And if yoy get out a tape measure I think you'll find that he's probably 8-10" long. :)

I use one of those thermometers that have the number appear on screen it is a tube. And I will updgrade to feeding him 2x a day

I agree it isn't a Rankins. Yours looks like it has some red coloration. Pure Rankins are only tan or grey.
Vittakins can have color...but they are mutts...not very desirable.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
