Possible impaction. Help please!

Hi all,
I stupidly fed my juvenile beardie, about 8 inches long 5 large crickets last night as the pet shop was running low on small crickets and said the large would be fine. However he still has not gone to the bathroom since eating them which is not like him and I am terribly worried. I am not home to notice any change in behavior but my mom fed him this afternoon. I plan on giving a warm bath and some acidophiliz when I get home. Any suggestions on what else i can do, is an expensive vet trip necessary, should I be so worried sick or is 5 large crickets not likley to do too much damage to my little guy?

Hello,

Those large crickets can impact him & may end up being hard for him to pass.
For now, I would not feed anymore insects but instead feed softer foods. Feed sugar free applesauce, canned pumpkin, along with squash baby food with a couple of drops of mineral oil.
Also, a daily bath would be a good idea, too just to try & help with hydration also.
Be sure the basking temperatures are optimal around 95-110 for the best possible digestion, too.

You can use any of the mentioned " laxatives" by themselves or with olive oil as well.
