Hello,

You are welcome! Adding the extra calcium powder to her food should help also. I really hope that she gets better soon. Bless her.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give y'all a quick update on Tolkein's condition. I was only able to get her to take a few licks of baby food this morning so she's still not apt to eating. I couldn't tempt her with a cricket either. Luckily she's still with us though for the time being. I'll be going to get her a new lighting fixture this afternoon to remount her light inside her enclosure and will be removing her rock as soon as this is done since she wouldn't be close enough to the light without this rock at the moment.

Hello,

Keep trying with Tolkien, hopefully she will start taking in a little more food eventually.
Is she basking any more than she has been previously? I hope she gets to feeling better soon.

She seems to be basking much more than she was on Sunday. When I held her then, she'd turn into a limp noodle in my hands but today she's much more alert. I removed the basking rock I had in her enclosure so now she's using her habba hut to sit on. Shortly before I turned off her lights for the night, she was actually walking around a bit. She's still wobbly on her feet and moving her head Stevie Wonder style but seems to have a lot more energy. I mostly see the disorientation when she's moving off her habba hut or trying to move away from the dropper I'm using to give her baby food with.

Hello,

That is great she seems to be doing a little better & is more alert, too. It will take some time for her body to fully pull out of the deficiency.
Hopefully her twitches & wobbly gait will improve soon! I am sure that Tolkien would love to be able to get around more efficiently also. Keep us posted on here. :D

Here is my little one today :) I found out that she really likes green bean baby food. I also got her to eat about 4 calciworms and two crickets (unless they're hiding!). She's seeming to be much better today. How's she look to you all?

I stopped by a local reptile store today and was talking to the owner about Tolkein and he suggested that her behaviors might also have been due to adjusting to the proper temperatures in her enclosure and the lighting considering that she likely wasn't in the correct type of enclosure before I bought her. Who knows though. He did say I could bring her to see him in a few days if I still feel she's out of sorts and check her out so I might do that, but for now, I think she'll pull through just fine. I'm so thankful for all the help and advice I've been given on here.

Hi everyone! I wanted to give you all an update on my sweet girl. She finally allowed me to soak her today and ate several insects in addition to more green bean baby food. It seems that her appetite is returning finally :) She does, however, run a bit from my hand when I put it in her enclosure now, which is to be expected when a syringe has been put in her face each time I've came near her. I'd probably run too! Haha.

Hello,

Tolkien is looking very good now! :D She is very alert looking also, great job!
It seems she has really improved, too. She loves green bean baby food? LOL At least you are getting her to eat & she had some calci worms, also.
It may have been some adjusting, but I think the lighting had a lot to do with it also.
I am happy for you both! Keep us posted on her progress.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
