Possible Brumation? [and another thing]

Tiberius has been with me for about a year now. I got him late September and he's been okay about eating and stuff.
Lately he has been trying to dig into his paper towels, hide from his light, and doesn't eat as much as he usually does. He's not lethargic though. It's about that time that I need to get him a new light, but is it possible that he is going into brumation? The days have been getting colder and shorter.
He has been destroying his paper towel substrate to the point where I'm tired of replacing it every single day and I'm just going to go out and buy some tile to lay down so he doesn't ingest any of the paper towel pieces. He also decides to start digging against his standstone at 4am.... it has been a GREAT week waking up at 4am every morning to get him to stop.

Tibby gets collard greens, mustard greens, spaghetti squash, and butternut squash daily. He will not eat his greens if I put calcium powder on them though :C

also curious....my girl is 6-7 months old and is doing the same thing....she has never tried to dig this much and appetite has dropped. My lights and temps are good.....
