Poop/UV Question

I cleaned Sams cage today and noticed he had a runny poo. It was rather foul smelling but was normal dark brown/black like his solid poops. He has been a pretty picky eater, mostly eating kale. I do get him to eat some fresh peaches and other stuff once in a while. He eats crix and super worms. Temps are normal. (95-100f)

My question is, I know his UV bulb needs replaced. Could this be a possible factor? Or should I make a trip to the vet?

I did acquire a new beardie that was being abused about 2 months ago. But they are always separate. Bowls are always scrubbed with a bleach water solution and I always wash my hands before/after handling either one. Any Ideas?

Usually when the poo is runny and extremely smelly it is a sign of parasites or worms..you should have a fecal test done.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. It has been almost 3 years since Sam had a bout with Coccaidia. I'm hoping its not that. I am going to order the stuff from beautifuldragons.org to do the fecal float and get the meds too. I guess better to be prepared. He has been a little stressed lately. I think its because the UV bulb needs replaced.

Stress can cause Coccaidia counts to be higher, correct? If thats the case, should I wait until after I get the UV buld replaced and Sam is no longer stressed?

I'm not sure if the count will go back down by itself after is gets raised so high,,I wouldn't want to wait, but you could pm Drache613..she will be able to tell you.

Thanks! I will Pm Her. I have ordered the fecal floats and the meds from beautiful dragon. just waiting on them. I need to go purchase a steam cleaner too.
