Digi sure looks well fed, guess we'll see if there are fertilized eggs. Maybe Pookie knew she was forming eggs & decided to add his stamp  I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for the good news when it's time.

Oh, so that little rumor I heard  was correct???
I'm not gonna say the _ t_ol_ y_u so....LOL
I'm gonna be needing my incubator an I'm much to far away to hatch them for you.
If she's anything like her mommy she won't give you 4 weeks before needing to lay them. Tiggs laid 21 days after the deed an every 21 days for 3 to 4 clutches.
BTW...Digi has one of those bellies that always looks full of eggies...she's full figured.
I wish it was only a rumor
Only 21 days?!?!?!?! EGOD! That means I gotta get my butt in gear in finding a hovabator. EGOD!
Stupid question: Out of a cluch of ~27, how many would actually be hatched? All? Half? Or should I only keep ~10 (and freeze the rest to be disposed )? And how soon would I be able to tell if the eggs are even fertile? (I don't think I'm ready for this)
Barbara will tell you how to proceed, she's getting her incubator out for Roux, as she bred with Gus, so lots of babies this year
I know it's overwhelming, but you're a great beardie mama/slave, so you'll get alot of support from all of us!
Hugs ('cause you need them!!)

I have a 100% hatch rate on eggies so I'm gonna say all will hatch that are fertile. Though sometimes a couple of the eggs might not be fertile but this usually happens in like the 3rd or 4th clutches...never seen it in a first clutch.
I'm afraid that I might not be able to afford to feed 90 plus babies this go around/year so I'm only going to be hatching 10 or so out of Roux first clutch too. Then maybe a few out of her later clutches.
I find this a difficult task...which eggis will I choose to keep and which to freeze. I have always hatched out all the eggs so this is going to be a new experience for me.
You will be able to tell if they are fertile immediately.
Fertile eggs will have what looks like a small air pocket in this pocket you will be able to see small blood veins. Infertile eggs do not have the veins. To look for this you will hold the egg with 2 fingers with a light behind them so that you can nearly see through them. When you are placing the eggs into the container/incubator you want the air pockets upward so the egg can breathe.
Yes you need to get busy on getting a incubator as it needs to be set up before hand to make sure all is going correctly.
Is there any brand of hovabator that's better than the other? The price range is ridiculous!
And what's the difference with turbo fan and thermal air flow (found one from bigappleherp that had two models)?
Anyone heard of G.Q.F.?
Gee Gina, now I'm feeling guilty that I went ahead and got that hovabator from Lance but it was just to good of a deal to pass up as you're finding out. If we can get Judas & Misty to breed, you and I can go through this together (yeah, like that gives you comfort  ). We would only keep a few eggs, like 3 or 4. We just want very desperately to carry on the "Judas generation." I know I would/will feel bad freezing fertile eggs but certainly can't keep them all.
Misty has the same pear shape too, she is a big girl and probably weighs more than Digi.
Barb, is it possible that the first mating didn't take?
Is it normal that there was blood in Pookie's pee? Not the urate (which was pure white), just the excess fluid that was totally separate from the urate and poop.
Well, it was hard to tell, since the puddle was so big. But what I did notice was that it almost looked mucous-like, that it wasn't just a few drips.
Another question: Would Digi bleed as well??
I doubt it.
Tiggs is a real fertile girl an I would only expect the same from her offspring.
Gina, relax and give Pookie a good soakin'. He's never used his hemi before an it may have gotten a little irritated...kind of like breaking the cherry(sorry didn't know how else to put it).
