Pookie Was Nominated As Office Mascot

Took Pookie into work with me today, and what happened was far from what I had ever imagined.

I tried to keep him hidden because I didn't want to get into trouble, but I was quickly defeated. Somehow, word got out after lunch and before I knew it, almost everyone was coming over to see him. All but two thought Pookie was the cutest thing in the world, and all were surprised at how well behaved he was. Everyone wanted me to bring him in everyday, to have a tank setup on my desk. One even suggested to have him be our department's mascot and wear a little T-shirt with our departmen'ts name on it. ( :idea: - time to go hunting for a teeny T-shirt and iron-on letterings)

Around 2:30pm, Pookie got tired of being gawd at (I'm guessing) and decided to run around my desk, knocking the many piles of paper over, and tried his darnest to hide behind things on my desk. After about a half hour of chasing after him, I finally gave up and allowed him to go wherever he wanted to. He finally found a small wicker basket next to a pile of books/papers and happily sat in the basket, hiding away from everyone. He stayed in the basket for over a half hour, until I plucked him out so we could go home.

I had taken a few pics which still need to be uploaded. Will do that tomorrow.

Wow Gina, that's great that Pookie was nominated as Office Mascot. Sounds like everyone thoroughly enjoyed having Pookie there. And, he helped with your paperwork too. :mrgreen: Can't wait to see the pictures and him in the little tiny t-shirt when you find it. Now he's a "beardie celebrity." :love10: :headbang:

I work at Merck, but in their regulatory dept, not the lab.
I'm not sure if I would/could have a setup for him at work. We have nightly security walkthroughs and I wouldn't want them to question why I have a tank on my desk. I did, however, thought of changing out one of the desk lights to a UVB and maybe clear out that area and place a blankie there for him.

What a cutie! I would love to take Brutus to work someday. My supervisor wouldn't mind, I'm just not sure about the temps in the office. It's usually chilly in there. Plus we need to work on getting him comfortable outside the house. That's so cool! I'm jealous.

That's what I thought at first too, but then I looked again and realized that he couldn't be seen by anyone unless they walked all the way into my cubicle, at which time they'd be in my lap :wink: . . . but he could still see what's going on. Pretty smart, huh?

Socrates has become the closest thing my orchestra has to a mascot, too. We usually have a picture of him around somewhere. Pookie is so cute. He looks a lot like Socrates! I love the WORMS poster.

hahaha I can't really take my guy to work, for one thing hes super young and another thing is i work at a restaurant. So i don't think that having a baby bearded dragon running down the line and running to the customers would be a good idea! It would be pretty funny though....
