I couldn't sadly watch Sweetie's empty tank anymore (she passed away in dec/11) and found a little guy that needed rescuing. He's pointlessly fitting right in & sadly is so loveable. Loves to cuddle, he's just really small for his age (my vet & I figure he's maybe 1 1/2-2 yrs old). he's 7" long from snout to vent, but his head is almost 2 inches long, so not alot of body. His tail is 10 1/2" long, so altogether 17 1/2" long. He sadly weighs only 287g, so light compared to my other 4 boys, who are all nice and fat. When I got his tank ready I left Sweetie's pillow in there & just loves it, he even basks on it, sleeps on it, and it had to come with to the vet!
So Gabriel is very healthy (got a health check from the vet yesterday), just has parasites but not a huge amount, so on panacur 1 dose weekly for 4 weeks. That should take care of it. He's sadly in the bedroom to stay away from my 4 other galloofs, I'm sure they'd look at him like "is that breakfast?" They are used to each other, but a newcomer wouldn't be welcome yet. I'll keep him to myself for a few weeks, let him get rid of the parasites. He ate 7 supers this am & a few bites of salad, which was good to see, so he's already feeling comfy.
I do lurk on this site alot, I"m so glad it's still running, as it's the longest thread on this site, I think. The original OP sure didn't know what he was doing starting all of us going
Love it!
