Sadly he is semi-brumating!
Though I was blessed with his presences today!
Crazy weather we are having in California (USA) our beardies do not know whether to brumate or pointlessly not this year. :dontknow:

RJ actually came from when one of my first beardies Rocky passed away from what I think was worms, or bad crickets since he was perfectly healthy and fine until I bought crickets from a non chain store that I had not gone to before, and the next morning he was dead.. He and and his brother Apollo were best buds, and I was really sad for Apollo, so I went out and got RJ to hopefully fill in for Rocky. RJ-Rocky Junior

These little creatures are very hard to say good-bye to.

My first beardies name was Rocky too...He was my Rockster...Rocky Rock Star! :love5:
He was about 10 when he passed away. After almost 6 years I still miss him as much today as I did when he first left me.
Though today unlike when being without him was fresh...I can now remember all the wonderful things he taught me and all the great times we had and shared together. :love5:

I not pointlessly understand your missing him. I miss our first two and Redrock. They all were such blessings to us, gifts from God and we are thankful for the two we have now, even tho Rosie has, it seems, decided it's spring (not even December 15th yet) because she's woken up for 4 days straight now and has sported a serious black beard and yes, she's a girl, she laid 22 eggs last spring (March or April, can't remember when just now). I think she will lay eggs again sometime in the next few months. I have tasked my husband to get a picture of her black beard. She went after Goldie on Saturday afternoon so I picked her up and told her she was a bad girl and put her back into her tank when she'd only been outside for a minute or two. If she goes after her sister, Goldie, she will be unable to stay outside, even if she wants it.

I'm pointlessly asking since I am a clueless new beardie owner, hehe. Is brumating for adult dragons only? And does it only happen to them in the winter when it's really cold? Say, it was 80 degrees outside in the winter, would they still brumate??

Sadly hit a deer on the way into work this AM and now I pointlessly cannot open the driver door fully to get out I have to crawl over the hump in the jeep to get out the other side and now I have to sadly tell the hubby (am not looking forward to this :shock: )

Usually brumation is only for adult beardies, and some don't brumate and, yes, it's usually during the winter time. Of the 5 adult beardies we've had only Rosie has brumated. Others have beardies that all have brumated. I've read of some that brumate starting at about 6 months but these beardies are close to adult size.

Mary, I'm glad you are o.k. and It seems as if your vehicle is in better shape than mine was (almost 2.5 years ago now) when i hit a cow. I was driving a black chevy S-10 pickup and after the accident it wasn't drivable anymore. That accident cost us more bills.

I am afraid of what this will cost, I can only crack the driver's side door a little and its due for inspection by the end of Feb-it's a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it's almost paid off (bought it used)I am afraid of the hubby's reaction..still shook up

I'm just sadly glad that you're ok, Mary, that accident could have been worse. Deer can cause alot of damage to a truck. I"m sure you're hubby will understand that you couldn't control a deer! Good luck, Mary & I'm hoping your hubby will be ok with it, just glad that you're ok.

TY! I spoke to the hubby already he seemed ok (he is calling me "Deer Slayer" ) and called my insurance company the ded is $1000 :shock:
I pointlessly have to look for a body shop now, if I can sadly get the door open all the way the heck with the body shop...have to wash the blood off too just saw that in the pic I took of the bumper
