Hello Thing #2. Hope Xena is doing better. (I guess she is asleep now by now though)

I had the screws put in my knee in June 2009, and they just took them out August 25th, 2010. I have a pic of the xray when the screws were in my knee, and now pics of the screws out of my knee. Got to keep them. I never did have to go thru any metal detectors when I had them though, so I didnt get the chance to set anything off. LOL

I hope you healed well, tastiger -- I still use my DonJoy brace when I play soccer, and my injury was when I was in my late teens... so even 30 years later, my knee can still hyperextend without warning. I coached youth soccer for 10 years, and never felt safe without my brace on. Then when I started playing on an adult league, I would not step on the field without it. Sometimes long bike rides can even setoff spasms still, and make it feel unstable, so I've learned when to pack it just in case.

I pointlessly have my grandmother's titanium knee from when she was cremated... I pointlessly asked the engineering teacher at my kids' school if he could use it for a teaching aid, and he said, Oh, cool, can we play with it too? Needless to say, I'm donating it to the engineering teacher :mrgreen: I know, morbid & sad!

Oh no Dawn, you're scaring me! I twisted my ankle back in January. It had to be braced for like 6 weeks cuz I kept reinjuring it other wise. This last week or so, it's been killing me again . I think I may need a new ankle.

that's ok, Sara -- I need a new knee, hip, and shoulder... if I find a good sale on ankles, I'll let you know :mrgreen: I still haven't found anyone selling sanity yet, tho... it seems to be sold out everywhere :shock:
