OH, Holly we are sooo sorry to hear this news. This is the second loss I have read of this evening and it just tears at my heart. There is never a good time to lose a beloved pet, but this time of year is the hardest. You have our thoughts and prayers for tomorrow. God be with you.

I'm sorry. I, also, was hoping for good news. I do think, tho, that it would be harder for you to watch her go down hill and get worse and worse every day until she dies. That is the hardest thing to do.

I'm SO very sorry Holly, she loves you so much and you in return. Sorry this had such an unhappy ending. You are doing the right thing, as painful as it can be. Our thoughts are with both of you.

You are in my thoughts. I compliment you for being so responsible about everything; and I do agree that having her put to sleep is probably the best thing to do at this point. Even if she was only with you for a short time, it was the best time of her life, and she will never forget you. You made a huge difference to her in a very small time. In the hands of anybody else, she probably would have died lonely and in pain. You gave her a chance. I applaud you.

Holly...I am so horribly sorry for what you are going through. Everyone on this site who has ever read any of your posts knows what Dexter means to you. I know your heart is breaking right now, but do know you gave that little girl a wonderful life. As someone else said she would have never made it this far without you. You are a very compassionate person and I hope one day you will bless the life of another beardie who needs someone to love.

Dex was put to sleep at 9.20am this morning.

We had a wonderful last night together curled up with a hot water bottle and her favourite blanket.
When it came time to put Dex back in her viv I was sobbing my heart out and Dex in her incredibly weakened state (she has not been able to take more than two steps over the last few days) climbed up from my lap and put her head into my neck.
I know it sounds silly but I really felt like she was telling me she loved me too.

I miss her desperately already.
You were the light of my life Dexter.
Sleep well.
