Hello Juan,

Well, malnutrition & dehydration can cause behavior such as that. Continue with assisted feeding, daily & he should greatly improve in a relatively short amount of time. Before you know it, he will begin eating on his own soon.

well I dont know how much malnutrition played a role in it as i had him for only a couple of days and was eating very well and he had all the good dusting available as well as uv lights and baths were given daily. I will just wait this out and see if he will eat on his own eventually, I'll give it another 2 days and let you guys know how he's doing.

Hi Juan..
I have read what you are going through with your baby beardie. I had one that i had to surrenge feed for 1.5 years he finally decided to eat on his own and loved it. now he is a full grown beardie . We gave him to one of my hubbies co-workers , he is very spoiled and gets the run of the house. So it was worth the three feedings a day. We went through alot of surrenges and baby food mixed with bearded pellets and cal,and vitamens.this is what the vet had me feed him.So dont get discouraged it is well worth it.

O.k guys, No good news here. I woke up today to find the lil kid on his last leg. He was almost completely stiff (thought he was dead) and very very dark almost pitch black in color. I immediately gave him a warm bath and his color got a lil better (not much) I tried to force feed him a small wax worm and he kept throwing it back up, I thought I had it down but just came home from work and he must've thrown it up again cause it was next to him on the branch where I left him this afternoon. I am giving him another warm bath as we speak. It is pretty sad my wife even asked if there was a way we could put him out of his misery and she is is not even that type. There is probably nothing that could be done at this point I am sure but I am all ears.

Oh no I am sorry to hear that.I wouls make sure to keep him warm today,you already did goo with the baths.You may also want to try to get babyfood down him.Make sure to warm it in the microwave and add a little water and clacium to it.Any chance you can get him to the vet quickly?

I wouldn't jump too fast, give him a little more time. Have you had a fecal done for him yet? The poor appetite could be a sign of parasites, especially if he's been stressed.

I have been doing those things and he had been doing much beter and now... he is lighter in color today but still has a blackish color along his sides. I gave him a lil bath with some jumpstart and calcium last nite. he is still w/o movement and has very shallow breathing and has not opened his eye for 2 days.

Unfortunatly the lil guy passed away about 30 min ago. I knew it was coming there was no way to pull out of that. his sibling are almost 2Xs his size, his eyes were sunken in and havent been open in 2 days, force feeding was fine untill yesterday when he just threw it up. I am a lil confused he seemed to be doing so much better and then in one night he got so bad... well thanks guys for all your advice and I will keep you updated on the other 2.

I dont know WTF to do! The second smallest just died, like 3 min ago. He was fine and just ate a few small cricket, he was basking and I didnt see him breathing and when I went to pick him up he was dead. WTF could this be? The biggest one looks healthy as hell but so was the smaller one. He had really nice color on him and was shedding. I was looking at him all day today, he ate apprx 3-4 small crickets then ran to the top of the basking branch and was dead less than 30 min later. anyone has any suggestions? the biggest one looks fine too but aparently he could go at any moment.

Oh gee I am so sorry.Juan were they all housed together?First thing I would do is scrub their tanks clean.I would also start pre-emptive care ASAP.Make sure he is hydrated,bathed daily make sure he is getting appropriate calcium and vitamins.Also supplement his diet with some babyfood to keep things moving and it may not be a bad idea to get some jumpstart for him.I really recommend you get him to the vet for a fecal to see if their is something parasitic going on.Can you post a pic of the one you still have left and also his set up(or did you do that already)?What are they eating again?

I am sorry you lost another one!
Did you ever change out the sand in the tank?
I agree, begin rehydration of your other one immediately. I would clean out the tank & take out all of the cage furniture & replace with cardboard right now until we know what the cause of this is.
Has he gone to the bathroom lately? Yes he does need to get a fecal as soon as possible.
Have they been exposed to any toxins that you can think of?
