Please Help.........

This will be short and quick right now,fixing supper. On Saturday Gimli went nutty on me. (Please remember that he is my second dragon,but I NEVER saw any of this with ALf) His beard turned BLACK,he arm waved,and head bobbed like crazy. I have pictures of his black beard and videoed his othe antics. Please tell me this is normal,if not please offer advice on what may be going on and what to do. He is app.13 inches and 111 grams and 5 months old.I have been a nervous wreck for 3 days but my stupid computer went caput and had to have it reprogrammed. Thanks for any advice in advance.

its normally most likly u have a boy if u dont already know this hes probablly going through puberty and probally figuring out how to breed its normally though it will pass try not to worrie

Sara, I agree with beardieaddict, it sounds like puberty has hit, those are the exact signs. Seems like he either spotted Alf or he smelled her.

Thanks Diane for both moving the topic and for the advice. Beardieaddict,I knew I was getting a boy this time around(that's what I wanted lololol) Thanks so much for the super quick responce!! As I said,my computer has been acting up since Saturday and I finally had to have it reprogrammed,so I've been even nuttier than usual the last couple of days without being able to access BD.org to let someone in on what was going wrong and get advice.
The first time he did his little black beard,head bob,I was holding him. I had taken him out of his viv for a little "sitting with Mommy" time (Alf was across the room sitting with my husband) all of a sudden my sweet little man starts turning black on his beard and head bobbing(Popping his head on my arm each time),I got a little nervous,like I said Alf never did any of this,and put him back in his viv. He continued with the black beard and out of the blue he starts waving at the window so I set up the camcorder on the tripod and taped him for about an hour head bobbing,black beard and arm waving.Cute,but like to have scared me to death.

oh gee, bet that DID scare you. So totally different from a female's behavior. Sorry, I should have warned you but I was thinking that it wouldn't quite be happening yet, guess I was wrong.

Although I was scared a little and shocked at first,I eventually remembered the posts I had read and told Mark that although I would feel better being able to ask I thought we had a hormonal little man on our hands.I read posts on here sometimes for 2 or 3 hours a day,so I remembered reading about it,but still would have felt better having someone to check with. Here I am used to my quiet,sweet little Alf and the only time I have seen her black beard was back in the late spring when it first started getting hot and her tank got too hot.
Then fast forward several months and I'm sitting holding little Gimli (who BTW is shedding again on his tail and legs) and he turns his beard black and starts head bobbing. OLOLOLOLOL Mark said I should have seen the look on my face. My Gimli is very lovable other than this thought and snuggles into my neck to sleep every night.He has almost doubled his weight in 3 1/2 weeks. He was 58.3 grams when he arrived(weighed where Mark works) then we bought scales and now he is 111 grams.

I forgot to mention that along with the other "scary" stuff Gimli was doing his tail turned dark,okay, I'm thinking distress and other unpleasant things (What did I do wrong? What can I do to make it better) The little booger is going to shed his tail and back feet! I was so nervous I didn't realize it was shed.

To make things a bit easier on him might want to make sure he cant see her from his viv. That can keep him all worked up and in a fit. I know what you mean when they are all calm and quiet and then out of the blue they turn man on you and blackbeard and headbob and your jaw just drops. Thats our little Bobble to the T. He jumps from our hands to get near the girls vivs. He started this at 5 months of age. How olds your little guy?

1 day I walked down stairs into my reptile/computer room, turned on Primo's lights and he was beside the glass, and automatically got really mad. He flared up, black under the beard, tilting his body, etc. No head bobbing though. But my point is, nothing made him mad, he just got angry. It happens I believe. I have no way to explain it

When Gimli is in his viv he cannot see Alf,I made sure of that before he came home.Their vivs are just around the corner from each other so his viv has a black piece of vinyl at the end where her tank is,she can't see him,he can't see her.I had them both out that morning,my hubby had Alf on the couch,I sat across the room on the chair with him. The only thing I can think is that he saw her from across the room,but he wasn't really looking at her. He was looking at the table beside where we were sitting,a picture of my parents(who are both deceased),a large light house that I painted, a stuffed tiger and a few misc. lttle things was all that was on the table. He is 5 months old,he was born around the first of June,the breeder I bought him from had bought this clutch from another breeder. He is in shed at the moment on his tail and hind legs.
