Alright, so degrees are lowering extremely here , and as I have posted before - the temps in the terrarium had gone down to 55F/13C in the night!!
Now temps. are quite stable and around 65-68 F / C in night, but it might drop any day. For now I am using electric element, but I am now looking for a long term solution.
Therefore, I am planning on buying a ceramic heat bulb per recommendations.
Questions are:
I have a 75 gallon (110 cm * 50 cm * 50 cm) large glass terrarium with openings at the top for air...
What kind of thermostats, cheap but good, can you recommend?
Should I use the ceramic heater on the cool or warm side of the tank?
How many degrees is it good to keep the ceramic heater on approx for night time?
How many watts do you reckon I would need I have possibility of 75 W or 100 W?
I am really tired of the temperature differences under my 100 W basking light, and wonder how I can find a solution to provide heat only or partly by the ceramic heat emitter for basking (as well as visible light with no heat for vision)... I mean, temps go from 90F/32C - 130 F/55C under the basking light depending on the day(!!).
Have I understood correctly that I would be able to get a ceramic heat emitter with a "dimmer thermostat" and put it to a certain degree in the day (for constant good basking temp.) to go down to a nice cosy 70F / 21C in the night perhaps?
Another question is:
I have a 36 inch 10.0 reptisun for my beardie, I know this should be approx. 6-8 inches from her when she basks - I have a half decent reflector to go with this, can I make the distance larger then?
Thanks a lot beardie lover!
