Playsand

Hi,

Still new to Beardies, i have read lots of info and would like to ask is childrens playsand ok to use a substrate. My plan is to have rough ceramic tiles one end to feed on and keep his nails short and sand the other end for him to dig in. If sand is ok what age is he allowed on it?...

A lot of people like using playsand, HOWEVER... any kind of sand may cause impaction of the intestines in a juvenille or baby, which like to taste everything. I have heard that it is safe for adults, but I have also heard that it is difficult to clean and holds bacteria. Personally, I am going to use tiles for my entire viv.

Do Beardies dig? If they are going to lay eggs I know the females need a nesting box to dig in, but otherwise... I don't know.
