picky dragon

so my little Ember, who im pretty sure is male cuz he's got these dots going from one underside of a leg to the other and somewhere said its a way to tell but its not accurate. but Em is doing good, i got lucky last month and found a basil plant. and he LOVES his basil and his meal worms lol and hard boiled egg white XD but ive tried giving him carrots ate one and that was it, gave him some small apple peices licked it that was it, ive tried Hens and Chick leaves but he had no interest and sweet potato he licked some of the sweet potato and i put some on a basil leave so he ate some so ill keep giving it to him every other day and see if he will eat. is there any other way to get him to eat other foods besides basil.

he did shed a week or two ago so idk if he's gonna shed again or he's just being picky.

Hmmm. Mine will eat ANYTHING. Try some fruits (only 10% of his diet should consist of fruit). Especially berries. Also, he can eat some prepared bearded dragon diet. I like to use these:

I've been wanting to try Dragon Bites but it's hard to get to Petco or Petsmart. I also don't really have the money right now.

yeah getting fresh fruit would cost alot and i dont have then money XD. I've seen the Dragon Bites on the Petco or Petsmart site but again its having the money XD

Hm.... Try some tomatoes. They tend to be cheap and beardies love them.

Waxworms would be fine. Only as a treat! They are like beardie's candy.

It sounds like your dragon isn't the one being picky. I know that when we got Puff I wasn't expecting him to cost as much as he has but it has been well worth it. Sometimes minor sacrifices have been made to make sure that he is healthy and taken care of.
Have you thought about purchasing some seeds and growing a few different types of veggies? This has saved us a ton of money and got us to start eating more vegetables as well.

my dude likes mustard greens the most and I've read that they love thinly sliced or shaved squashes to which are very easy to grow. but bug wise you should try dubia I don't think ive seen a dragon resist a dubia lol.
