Picking Up Technique

I'm having trouble figuring out how best to pick up my new little guy. He's so low to the ground I can't get my fingers under him. I got him to clamber on my palm for his bath tonight but it took quite a while. How do you all go about picking up the babies? He's so small and light I don't want to hurt him. Thanks!

I just lwer my hand into the tank in front of Spike so he sees me coming then reach over and scoop my fingers under his belly and put my thumb across his back. So pretty much just like if you reached straight in from above and picked your BD up but I just make sure he sees me and knows I am coming so he doesn't get scared.

i used to put my index finger under the mouth/chin/neck area and slowly lift up and they will bring their front legs up on ur index finger annd then pick up and place ur thumb on their back...it worked for me and doesnt hurt them
