So, here is the current setup:
It is pretty simplistic, I set it up that way "just in case," I ended up with a younger one, since I read that too much can cause them not to eat. Well, we went to the big Vivarium today and ended up getting a mid-sized girl, not a full adult, but defiantly not a infant. I will have to get pictures later. She might be close to a foot.
My first question is... Do they need to be able to bask under the UVB as well as the heat lamp? Also, if the cool side of your cage is too cool then what do you do? Her basking area is measuring at 103, so she has plenty of heat there, but the cool side of the floor is in the high 70s.
Do you turn heat lamps off at night? I have read its ok if they don't get below 65 but the guy at the Vivarium said to leave it on all night. I would think being lit constantly would mess with their light/dark rhythms (forget the technical name off hand).
The plastic dish will be used as a salad dish, I plan on going with the spray method of watering. The carpet might be temporary, with some tile coming later, but i need to find out who can cut them for me first (I would love some for my gecko tanks as well!).
