Phineas, Bob, and Chloe *Video*

Ha ha... Bob and Chloe don't like me very much. To them, I'm the nasty lady who comes with medicines and eye drops and puts them in the bath. They both actually run away from me when I open the viv door. (Unless I'm holding the superworm container. Then their fear magically disappears.) Neither of them will sit with me, and Bob has actually resorted to leaping from the couch to get away from me if I try to cuddle him. So for now, I'm not forcing it. I interact with them every day. I pat their heads and stroke their beards throughout the day so that they'll hopefully figure out that I'm not going to medicate them every single time I come over to the viv. It's weird, because Phin gets medicines and baths too, but he will leap onto my hand as soon as I open his viv, and he clings to me so pathetically when it's time for him to go back in. I don't know why his attitude is so different from theirs. They'll come around though... it's only been two weeks, and they were never really handled before this, so it's going to take some time. In the meantime, I'm sure Phin doesn't mind getting all the snuggles! He's just a big cuddlebug at heart. :love5:

Chloe's viv is all ready to go... I'm just waiting for the Megaray to arrive. It was shipped on the 26th, so I'm hoping it will arrive next week sometime. Phin is actually going to get the Megaray and Chloe will have the ReptiSun 10.0 for six months, at which time it will be replaced by a Megaray as well. Because of her eye problem and because she seems to have the best bones of the three I think that will work out just fine. Bright light seems to bother her poor little eye, so the ReptiSun should be a little easier on her. I'm really anxious to get her and Bob separated. Every day I come home and am afraid that he'll have bitten her or vice versa. Also, one of them has really runny poo, but since they won't poop in front of me, I don't know who it is. There's no point in getting fecals on them right now because I wouldn't know whose poo was whose! I'll be so happy when they each have their own setup.

I'm on the verge of happy tears... I am holding Phin on my chest, and he just did his comfy wiggle on me for the first time! Before he would only do the wiggle on a pile of blankets and he just wouldn't relax while I was holding him. This makes me so stupidly happy!

Awwww... I'm just in love with Phin... that little tongue of his gives him such personality. I can't wait for him to really fatten up.

OK............. so last night I found out about CJ passing, and was so upset I had to go to bed and was unable to respond.............but today I realized that we all have a purpose in helping our babies who come our way, and you did such a great job with Miss CJ.

I'm so delighted with the news of Phineas, Bob and Chloe............to think you are keeping all three, (of course I knew that when I began to read this thread) :wink: You are an angel, Sandi, and these precious ones were sent to you and only you............you give hope to the hopeless, and mistreated, and brighten the lives of beardies who have had such an unfortunate beginning, I will be anxious to follow their progress, bless you,

They're doing well. Phin loves me, Chloe tolerates me, and Bob hates me. He'll come around though. He leaped on my face from the couch today - I actually thought he might bite me, but instead he just tried to climb my head. It's a good thing he keeps his nails filed down with all the climbing he does, or I'd have some lovely scratches to show for it! Poor little Chloe is at least partially blind in her left eye. If I put worms on her left side, she doesn't react at all, but if I put them on her right side she goes nuts and eats them. I think she can see a little bit on the left side, but not enough to really know what's going on. I'm going to take her in and have the vet look at her eye with the fluoroscope(?). Hopefully we can do something about it. Even with only one good eye, she's still a better hunter than Bob and Phin put together. Phin is starting to get the hang of catching the worms in his dish and is eating pretty well on his own. I haven't had to syringe feed him in a while now. I'll be interested to see what the scale says on Friday - that's our weigh-in day. Phin is the ultimate cuddlebug. All he wants is to be held and snuggled with. He would sleep on me all night if I let him. He is the suckiest lizard EVER! And I love him for it. I hope that Bob and Chloe will learn to enjoy cuddling someday too.

Phin sounds like a real doll. I'm sure Bob and Chloe will come around once they realize how much fun it is to be snuggled.

Hi Sandi, thanks for the video of Phin, he's sure a cutie and a snugglebug, too, that's great. The other two will come around in time, they won't be able to resist you for much longer!

I'm glad they're all settling in, and glad that Chloe will be getting her own tank soon. Sounds like they're all settling in, which is great. It's alot different having 3 beardies to having 1, but the work is worth it. Roger and I juggle our five (when they're awake that is), so they all get cuddled in the am and the afternoon. They're all very spoiled and grump if they think they're not getting sufficient cuddle time. Even Lonzo let Roger snuggle him yesterday, he's normally too dignified for that, but he's starting to enjoy it too. He's up today, and said to tell you Hi. I gave him a kiss & hug from you, he enjoyed that very much.

Thanks for keeping us updated on your new crew, I really enjoy the pics, you have a great camera. They all look much better, more relaxed than when you first got them. Yay!

Sandi, glad to hear you decided to keep all three of those sweet beardies
I think it's funny how all three are so different about you holding them.
At least you have one snuggler for now and hopefully all three will be snuggling before you know it.

I am lovin' Phin's little tongue... it adds such character to his sweet face.

It's good that they are responding so well to the meds and more than that... your love!

Chloe is happy in her own tank. She's not very active, but I think that's just because Bob isn't chasing her around like a horndog anymore.

We had our weekly weigh in today. Phin and Chloe both gained weight, and Bob stayed the same. Of course, Chloe hasn't pooped in a couple of days so when she does, all that weight gain might disappear! :shock: :lol: She's plenty heavy enough now though. When I got her, she weighed almost exactly the same as what Cam did when I got her. Now, just a few weeks later, Chloe weighs more than Cam did when she passed away. So in 3 weeks, Chloe gained more than Cam did in 10 months. Hard to believe, isn't it? It really reinforces to me that Cam had something terribly wrong with her GI system. Poor girl. As much as I love the Terrible Trio, I miss my Campbell Jane like crazy.

Thank you. I was so happy when I saw my sweet baby girl got a full page in the calendar. I guess buying the good camera paid off!

They are all doing well. All are eating and pooping and shedding. I've put up a few threads in Photo Expressions. Sadly, Bob and Chloe really don't like me. I tried to give Bob a chin rub tonight and he jumped away from me. I tried to touch the top of his head and he flinched and pulled away. I tried to pat Chloe on the head and she jumped away too. I don't know why they're like this. Phin loves me though, so that's something good anyway. He's a world class snuggler. He loves to have a bath, swim around like mad, get burrito'd, and then fall asleep on me. :love5: I'll keep working with Grumpy and Grumpier and they'll come around, I hope.
