he was weak. and was fragile. so i put him in the hands of a reptile rescuer, and get updates frequently.
as for jumanji! hes doing fantastic now. i plan on posting a video of him eating too

Speaking of chain pet stores being bad, I went to my local petco the other day and saw something that shocked me. They had like three or four bear dies in a five gallon cage together, and they were feeding them MEALWORMS ! It shocks me how uninformed some people are.would u believe the lady there pretends to be an "expert". They are having some reptile rallything on June 4th and the pet they are doing this time is the bearded dragon! I just got my first beardie and even I know more than these losers! Im gonna go to the rally and teach tell them a thing or two! This is the cary north carolina location if anyone wants to join me.

It warms my heart reading your story along with all the rescue stories on here that have that happy ending. It's seriously people like you who make me want to go out there and rescue one as well. In fact, when my beardie gets older I will (he's my first so I want to raise him and continue to learn how to give them the best life possible before doing so).

Yeah, apparently Petco will be doing some Reptile Rally featuring the bearded dragon on the and 5th so what my boyfriend and I are going to do is show up and really educate the people there about how to take care of a bearded dragon like the biggie of why are they housing 6+ dragons in a tiny tank (20 gallon at most). The people working there obviously know nothing of the care (feces everywhere, water dirty, no basking light and all the dragons where tiny...mine is only 2 months and is almost 9.5 inches, theirs are 5+ months and half the size) and I refuse to let them misinform the people of my area.

Anywho, God bless people like you Blaze. We need more people like you out there. BTW Jumanji is just absolutely gorgeous!

I've been off line, nice to catch up, Jumanji is certainly beautiful and looking so healthy now, you've done a great job, keep up the great work.

He has grown. almost 13 inches. I know its not alot, but he has a tail nip, and considering his treatment before hand hes growing nicely.
Jumanji is now close to 8 months old and has been wonderful.

Jumanji is now a she. . . . So i have to rename her.
Any ideas?

Oh wow, she looks great, how did you find out he was a she?? Jumanji could be a boy or girl name.......but how about Juma for short?? I'm so glad she's doing so well, kudo's to you for doing a great job!!!!!!

Still...I love the name Sassy...always have...Sass for short

2nd choices I love names that go with the color and are related to food, objects, jewles etc. Like;
Ginger...(snap for short :mrgreen: )
Nutmeg (meg)
Topaz (ok, more for a boy huh?)
Just to give the idea...

I still like Sassy though LOL

There is a book at petsmart about bearded dragons that is $11 but it is rated the best book on them I learned a lot from it. My beardie didn't care for greens for a week or so but then loved collard greens and mustard greens. I actually make a salad of greens and put a few freeze dried mealworms like croutons lol he loves it and has grown a lot in past few months. I shake all his crickets in calcium d3 powder and he is very healthy. Mine was a hatchling I bought from petsmart but luckily their reptile people are bearded owners and other reptile owners so they take care of their reptiles
