Well the sad news his the baby was still there! The good news is they gave him reptile carpet, a small water dish with very LITTLE water in it as they didn't want him to drown (at least 1 person working there knows what he is doing). They had a small fake plant and a log in there with him as well.
The negative was there was a worm in there bigger than his head but he had not eaten it. I went and said something to the 1 I know and he went to tell his other worker to take it out of there.
He also asked me for documentation of the light info so he can steer people away from the inappropriate lighting and ask corporate to sell the repti sun that I mentioned. (Like I said at mine there are 3 that care a lot about the animals, the others could care less)
On the POSITIVE side---the little guy had grown some pooped while I was there (they were going to clean it soon) and he had absolutely NO STRESS marks at all .
So some good things about them

I am having problems with Petsmart too, not sure what to do. Check out this thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=102137&hilit=
Oh, and I forgot to mention that both the dragons have stress marks.

Well, there is some positive news, and that you were able to get them to take the worm out, all the better.

I forgot to mention in my last post, that we went in to get some crickets yesterday (hopefully last time), and the baby was gone... hopefully to someone who is taking care of him properly. *fingers crossed*

The best,
Em

The hamster is doing surprisingly well. I'm very proud of him. If I had the cage space, I would adopt him after all this trouble is over with. I just feel like there is a lot of emotion between us. He almost lost me my job, popping off to managers in his defense and storming out dramatically...

Hi,

I'm glad you were able to have an informative conversation with your manager. It all does make a lot of sense, yes. I can see where they're coming from, certainly. It's really something that they have been open and communicative with you, and seemingly, have been at least, listening.

I'm very glad to hear the hamster is doing well.

Thanks for keeping us updated. Lots of support to you.

The petsmart in my area is a joke. They never know anything and I did purchase Puff there about 2mths ago and he has parasites that he contracted from the petstore. The vet said the amount that Puff had he had them way long before I even got him:( So when I called Petsmart they gave me this response. "Sorry we only have 14day policy on our sick animals"....I was furious so I am calling the store manager and see what she has to say. Keep you updated :angry5:

So Petsmart has made this a long drawn out process. I have been in contact with the store manager which tells me that she is appalled that they sold me a sick dragon and she is going to see what she can do for me. Well it takes her forever and a day to get back to me, finally she calls me back saying that head office wont reemburse me for my vet bill but to return the dragon for a full refund.....I was like ummm NO, could you return a kitten after caring for it for 2mths. So I said well if head office wont authorize a refund (vet bill) then how about a store credit. She then said okay well I will have to contact them and I will get back to you on Tuesday b/c after that I am getting tranferred to a new store. Well it is Wednesday and no word from her or the store. So I am calling again today to talk to their NEW store manager...YeeHaw. Let the party continue. :banghead:

Oh, man. Good luck getting any sort of reimbursement for that! When my dragon I purchased from my store died (coccidia) and I told my manager the cause, and how coccidia gets bad, (you know- lurking crickets eating poop, eating said poop-crickets. repeat.) she said that I was the only person to have this complaint, so it must have just been my dragon, not anything that the vendor or store associates did. No refund since it was past two weeks. HA. So the $300 enclosure, the purchase of the dragon herself, vet bills, oh well! Sucks for me.

I could have fought a bit more. This was almost a year ago though. I really do hope that your store is different from mine and they do something about your troubles.

The Petsmart where we live is actually very nice. All the reptile housings are always very clean and they look very healthy fortunately. We did purchase Meathead at a Petsmart, and he was with 3 other little ones.

My complaint is with Complete Pet Smart, where we purchase our crickets. That's the only thing that is ever in poor supply at Petsmart. :(

I go in there every week to purchase Meathead his crickets, and I see this poor Beardie whom looks soo miserable and unhealthy. Just last month they had one in with the other and it was practically dead! (the poor thing actually did pass:( ) I was so upset. The reason being is those poor things are in such unhealthy environments there. They definitely do NOT have the proper heat they need, housing is NEVER clean when I go in there. They have a heat rock in there covered up with a paper towel that is always torn to bits and dirty, poo all over the bottom of the housing, and its DARK in there. We are first time Beardie owners but I know for sure that the environment they are in is NOT good for them. Its just sad to see people treat animals the way they do. And the price they want for that poor guy?! $160.00. CRAZY!

The good thing about the Petsmart out here is they are very clean and their reptiles never look too young to be sold, or look stressed. Which is comforting.

WOW, after reading all of the comments here about Petsmart, it makes my store look sooooo good. I'm not saying we are perfect but we get away with giving our animals alot better care than corporate and their "vets" say we can. My Petcare manager lets me get away with so much when it comes to the care of the animals. I have pretty good co workers who all have pretty good knowledge and if they don't know they will absolutely find someone else who does. I am saddened by the fact that there are so many poorly taken care of animals at other Petsmarts. I know our care is not perfect and is not what I would have someone do at their own home, but our cages are clean, the animals are given appropriately sized crickets, and when they are sick they are taken care of, and our vet actually has some reptile knowledge.

And to all of my fellow Petsmart associates, if you have a problem with a manager or another employee and the managers refuse to do anything, PLEASE call caresmart. We need to get bad employees out of the stores so that people don't have to complain about us.

Ah, caresmart! The number is right in the break room and the clock in room.
Thank you for the reminder, I will put it in my phone, in case there is some sort of incident.

Do you think managers not signing off on the back rooms is good enough cause to call?
I've seen them do it so many times, just sign off two or three times all at once.

Hey, i had a recent experience with petsmart. They anger me now so i won't go there anymore. Found this store a little farther away and it's called fins and skins. All they have is reptiles and fish. I was like when this place get here. They even breed there own beardie's there. So i'm happy the cricket's are cheaper too.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
