Sounds like you're getting on the right track, but for adding other lights... Give it a shot. I use warm color led lights to brighten up my beardies tank. Leds don't give off much heat, use very little energy and give off loads of light. Just make sure it's a warm color (yellow/orange light) as cool color lights (blue /white) are hard on the eyes.

Ok got the reptisun 10.0 in today but L.t had already put himself to bed. I made sureit worked so I threw the zilla light on the trash. I hope his new uvb gets him out of his funk. Thx again for everyones advice.

Ok so yesterday got the reptisun 10.0 in but it fits the hood that goes on top of the cage but its to big to mount on the inside. It is about 12inches from his basking spot.I know that its filtered because of the screen top .I had my wife go by petco and the only size reptisun they have is an 18inch. I found a 18inch fixture @ lowes and I mounted it on the inside of the tank 8inches from the basking spot and it covers the whole length of the basking area. So he most definitely will be getting all of the uvb. Any more opinions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thx to everyone again. Hope this makes L.t feel better.

Sounds like you are doing everything you should be. How old is the beardie? Mine has been hiding under her basking spot a lot lately, I'm wondering if she isn't feeling a bit peckish. You might try to take a poopie to the vet and get a fecal done. Your beardie may just have intestinal parasites that are making him feel icky. However, now that he has proper UVB, he will be able to digest much better. The UVB is what helps beardies digest their food.

He is 6 months old. About 14 inches long. I have a scale ordered so I can weigh him. He hasn't been real interested in his crickets latley but he has been chowin down on super worms. I don't know If its because his uvb has been out of whack or if he is just sick of them. I'm going to order him some Dubia's to see if he likes those

That is what I feed my girl. She's about 6 months old as well. I tried Phoenix worms with her and she was like "Well.. if i MUST eat them.. I will. But I don't like them!" So when I tried dubias... it was like a whole nother creature... she LOVES them so much I can't feed them to her fast enough! LOL IF that doesn't work, though, I'd seriously think about getting a fecal done at the vet. You never know.

I found a vet and made L.t an appointment for Monday.@ 10:15am. So if he's got something wrong we can make him feel better. Need to get a.fecal done anyway.

Well its been a couple of days since i got L.t his reptisun mounted in his tank. Rearranged his basking spot so he would get his uvb while basking. Finally got his basking spot to stay about 105-110. He starts out up there in the mornings but most of the day and when I.get home he's lying on his carpet next to his basking spot. Is this normal? Do I need to get his basking temp lower now that he is 6months. Also he still doesn't have much of an appetite. I don't know what to do. It's got me all upset. I have a vet appointment Monday morning @ 10:15am for a check up.and a fecal. Please someone give me a clue or some advice before I loose it. :dontknow:

Hmmm.. when was his last bath? He could be dehydrated? Since bathing is the best way they get their water, not drinking directly, that might be it? Also, when you go into vet and get the fecal, make sure you get a fresh poopie to take with you, that is how they check for parasites.

No you have to take a poop with you. The fresher the better. That way they can see if there are parasites. So take the poop he does closest to the appointment :) Just put it in a ziploc or something, nothing fancy.

Yeah to answer your question I have been giving L.t a bath every day since Monday. He doesn't seem dehydrated but I have been giving him frequent baths anyway. I also ordered him some dubias today but they won't ship till Monday. Hoping he will love them too. He is such a great joy to me. My wife thinks its kinda crazy for me to be that attached to him, but it is what it is and I will do as much as I possibly can for him. I've had him since he was a baby and he's like my own child.

Well took my L.t to the vet, no parasites, but he got two shots for calcium and can't really remember the other. The vet said as far as his sleeping he's probably slowing down but shouldn't really be a concern. He also said that since his lighting hasn't really been right he probably had a lack of calcium. So we will see how it goes for the next few days. Still doesn't want his crix but his dubias are ok the way.

If he is lacking calcium, you might want to invest in a calcium supplement you can dust your dubias with. That is what I use :) You can get it at the pet store

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
