We headed out about 6:30am from Fresno. The boys however didn't wake until we were at the grapevine.

Saturday was packed!
We seen a lot of new vendors this year and missed seeing a few that we have seen for the past 5 shows in Anaheim.

Glades Herp Farm partners with the Swamp Brother's which by the way were headliners of this show.
DSC09367.jpg

Speaking of the Swamp Brother's I loved listening to the story of how they began interested in reptiles...
Robbie Keszey we had met our first year to Anaheim when the boys were only about 5" to 6" long.
I'm so mad at myself... not because I didn't get their autographs, but because I spaced off getting a pic for the boys scrapbook of them with Zak-n-Wheezie. :(
Oh, yeah! The asked to shoot some footage of Zak-n-Wheezie an afterwards we had to sign a release form so I think the boys will be on TV again. I hope if so, that if I'm in it, they got me from the chest up only. I was wearing my purse around my neck stuffed with blankies to make like a baby carrier for the boys to ride. I'd forgotten to move my purse when they started shooting.

Some of the Vendors....

It was a pleasure meeting Greathouse Farms
This is lousy photography, but you have to love that smile. :D

The young men at this booth were really nice and I have to say they have great prices on their supplies. A couple of the young men from this booth have also met Happy and Sleepy before. For those that know me...remember I said that I had heard there was another like the boys in Florida even though I have never been able to find them to speak with their owner Cindy Ward. Happy and Sleepy have however been in the Reptile Magazine so some of you may have seen them before. We also have a member that knows Happy and Sleepy. It was nice to hear something about another that has been around for about the same time as the boys maybe longer I don't know. One of the young men explained to me a little about the split difference....Happy and Sleepy actually are split much farther down than the boys. One of them couldn't get over how big Zak-n-Wheezie's heads are. LOL

One of the highlights to every trip we make to Anaheim is seeing the awesome Dr. Dan Wentz. :D
We met Dr. Wentz on our very first trip to Anaheim when Zak-n-Wheezie were only 11 weeks old.
He is a treasure to know and just look at that beautiful smile...how could you not love him? That smile is contagious.

Sorry if I double posted any of them it was a lot of pic's to go thru. I realized not only did I not get a pic of the Swamp Brother's but I also didn't get a pic of the BEAUTIFUL Uromastyx I was awwwing over. ARG!!!! If I would have walked away from the show with a extra pet it would have been him. We were good though...only picked up a few supplies that we needed.

I love the pic of Dr. Wentz with that great big smile. He looked like he was just as happy to see the boys as they were to see him :p

It's always a treat to see pics of Wheezie and Zak, especially in the last few where they had their happy colors on and no black beard.

Thanks for sharing all your wonderful pictures from the trip. I would have loved to have been able to see the show in person. It looked great! :D But a tour from yourselves and Z & W is a close second. Thanks again!

Thank-you Gina! :)
I think the Zak-n-Wheezie's presents might just make Dr. Wentz's trip. :)
He did seem extra happy to see them this year.
He said they were "hefty"... That made me feel good.
He also showed me how to remove the build up in the phemoral/ femoral pores (sp?).
It's about impossible to get them to sit on a warm enough surface long enough to shrink them, nor do the move around enough on course surfaces to wear them down/off. Dr. Wentz showed me how to gently squeeze each one like a pimple then pull it. They slide right out if they are long like the boys'. (Kind of like plucking the missed feathers on your Thanksgiving turkey, but nowhere as difficult.)
I wasn't to sure of this  at first and have been keeping a very close eye on them, but all seems to be just fine didn't leave any irritation and they seem to be much more comfortable. :D Not that Dr. Wentz would ever steer me wrong. :)

Thank-you Mirthy! :)
It was a blast...I'm glad you enjoyed the pic's of our trip. Sorry there were not more...I have a hard time remembering to actually use the camera while I'm there. Because it's so busy and we are usually so mobbed due to the boys.

I love all the pics, I just hate when a beardie/or other reptile comes to the glass and scratches like "bring me homeee" it's sooo tempting  Looks like you had a great time, I'm sure the ones out west are bigger than our NY shows which are still fun to go to :)

"Hefty"? That's a great compliment! Heehee, now you can go around singing "hefty hefty hefty, wimpy wimpy wimpy" (from the Hefty trash bag commercial) (sorry, I'm in rare form due to hunger).

Oh my god, that's exactly what I do with Pookie's pores! Thank god I wasn't doing anything wrong, even though Pookie might disagree.

Thank-you SamusTheDragon! :)
I'm glad you enjoyed the pic's. :D
We only have a couple really big shows our here...most are average.
But since financially I can only afford one show a year I like to go to the big one. :)
Plus I have a better chance of running into more of my online friends at a bigger show.

LOL!!! :laughing6: @ The Hefty commercial.
Gina your hunger is making me laugh.
  Hunger will do strange things to you.

It was a great compliment from Dr. Wentz though.

Zak wasn't so happy about Dr. Wentz messin' with his junk area, but Wheezie seemed to be relieved. I imagine they (those over grown pores) have got to get uncomfortable when they get that big. Zak got over it really quick though and forgave the good Doctor. :)

That's because it was their buddy messing with them. If it had been anyone else, they probably would've been black bearding and head bobbing big time.

I can't believe that I only just found this thread! What great pictures Barb. Z & W sure have LOTS of admirers. Hard to tell who enjoys it more, the people or the famous two-some. :p So, you think they might be on TV again????????? That would be awesome!

Dr. Wentz has a wonderful smile, would definitely be contagious. Can tell that he thinks so much of them. That must have made you feel great when he said they looked so good and hefty too. (love the song Gina ) Oh, and tweezers work great on the clogged femoral pores too.

How long of a trip is it to drive to Anaheim? Bet you all were exhausted, but a good feeling exhaustion.

Sure wish the White Plains Expo wasn't so far for you, sure know there would be LOTS of us here that would be thrilled to meet them and also your whole family. :D

Thanks for sharing your amazing day with us.

Hi Diane and thank-you!
Better late than never... :)
I'm not quite sure who enjoyed it more either.

Yeah there's a possiblity of TV again I'm thinking since Frank an I had to sign a release form. :dontknow:
Will keep you all updated on when an if they are.

Dr. Wentz is such a nice guy....we all just love him...it's not just the boys. He has always made time for me whenever I have concerns even though he's a very busy man an all the way in Missouri. It was a wonderful compliment too. :D

It's about a 4+ hour drive depending on traffic. It wasn't bad considering it was a Holiday weekend. :)

Wish we were closer too. It would be neat to go to one of the East Coast shows and meet some of my friends out there.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
