Hi everyone! I wanted to introduce myself and my first beardie. :) I've been keeping herps since I was a child, but only in the past 6 months did I really start wanting a bearded dragon. This forum has been so helpful while researching everything! Without further ado, this is Oola.

This is a picture taken by her seller. This is the picture where I officially fell in love with her, haha.

Oola is 5 months old, 13.5" and weighs 90 grams "on empty". She has the longest tail I have ever seen!!

She is... let me get this right... a hypo citrus tiger leatherback, with clear nails. Her parents were from Draggintails.

Her temporary enclosure, a 36x18x18 Exo-Terra. I'm ordering a 4x2x2 viv, probably from CustomCages. Her current tank is unfortunately decorated with a hodge podge of leftover decor from my other herps! I'm hoping to fix that soon.

Having a bonding moment after her PM cricket meal. It's amazing to notice the difference in weight when I pick her up before and after a meal!

God, this girl can eat! I knew juvenile beardies were notorious for their appetites but Lyra tosses back the crickets and greens like there's no tomorrow. It's hilarious to watch her look go cross-eyed right before she snatches a bug up. :)

Caught a few pictures tonight while she was getting ready for bed.

She weighed 106 grams today. :) The name "Lyra" isn't really sticking. Does anyone have name ideas?

She is a beauty!

Same problem as you with naming my new beardie I am picking up on Saturday lol...

Keep informed of new name (if it changes)

Alright, the name has totally changed. One of my coworkers is from Australia and he said, "how about picking out an Aboriginal Australian name?" (since beardies originate in Australia)

He sent me a website with a list of names, and lo and behold, "Oola" is a girl's name meaning "red lizard". That's it!!! She has officially been renamed.

Hehehe yes. The name cracks me up so much. It keeps reminding me of the song from "War of the Worlds" that goes "ooooooh laaaaaaa".

She's beautiful, That first picture of her, taken by the seller, totally grabbed my heart! Her face is so sweet, and she's giving a look of endearment. You've got one special little beardie....

Thank you for the comments! Kaleen, I agree about the first photo. It really was the moment when she stole my heart, haha.

She's doing really well... I can't believe I've already had her for a week! I ordered her 4x2x2 viv, and a basking platform from Ken at the Rock Shop, and I can't wait to get her upgraded to the larger enclosure.

Another thing I was initially concerned about was how she'd react to my two dogs. They've always been perfect around my other pets, but I just didn't want Oola to be freaked out by their barking or playing. She's gotten progressively more comfortable around them and even tried to climb onto one of them as they were snoozing on the couch! I keep monitoring her for stress marks, inappetance, or any other signs of stress, but she's taking everything in stride.

lol... I still stress when I have mine out of their vivs and the dogs are all around...but then it can get to be utter chaos in a moments notice with 5 dogs... never know what is going to set them off.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
