So I'll preface this by saying Mort loves her food and happily chases down lots of crickets and locusts and does like her greens too. 6 months old, balance of about 75% bugs 25% salad.

Just worried slightly because she only eats the collard greens. She works her way around everything else. Tried parsnip, carrot, tomato, apple, sweetcorn, green beans, red bell pepper, cress... she just loves her collard greens!

I know these are one of the really good greens for beardies, but just wondered if this is even a problem or not? I do dust the salad every other day with Exo Terra's reptile multi vitamin. Won't complain if it's okay, it's like the cheapest thing for me to buy her year round!

She's starting at me now... knows I'm typing about her... :)

It's not ideal - one food item alone will not make a balanced diet for her and could lead to imbalances... But I'm not sure what to say other than keep trying and to gutload the insects well. :/

Have you tried arugula, turnip or mustard greens? My guy also likes spring mix salad and kale - which could be mixed with the collards.

Thanks! Yes, I'm gutloading the crickets with the veg she won't eat.

What about beetroot greens? Those I can find easier than turnip or mustards greens. Will try a bit of kale and mixed other salad too.

Going to try putting small bits on her basking rock. She likes to lick it and might actually like something once she tries it. I do also have dry beardie food, which is what she was raised on before I got her. But I haven't tried it yet since she seemed fine eating her fresh stuff.

just had one of those "duh" moments... I'm told there's a great chinese supermarket somewhere in town (I just moved here recently) so will go find that. I bet they have mustard greens and other cool stuff to try!

Sometimes organic/independent supermarkets have good veggie/green selections too. Might be worth checking into those if the Chinese market doesn't pan out. If the other veggies are a no go, perhaps you can try blending a few of them into a puree/smoothie and use it as a salad dressing to put onto the collards so she gets the rest of the veggies when she goes after the collards.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
