Omg...Petco

Our PetCO is so GOOD that they know us by name and and by voice when we call about something. They will also hold something for us if we call and say we need something and they are close to running out of it. They know our animals by name as well. It is a very clean and good store. They try hard and do as much as they can get by with without getting in trouble with corporate.

I am lucky enough not to have a petco or pet smart anywhere near me. I went to one once and will never go back. I'll take the risk of online ordering.

just went to petco today to see if they had any cali-worms/some decent small superworms because the two stores in my city that have them were closed for the day. when i get to the worms im excited to see two seperate "snack packs" that had some supers and some cali worms for like $4, only thing was they were in the fridge. so i take them out in hopes that maybe they were just put in there today and wouldnt be dead and unfortunately they all were. so i waited until someone that looked like they were working in the reptile area to pass by and i showed them the containers and told them how i found them in the fridge even though it clearly says in huge bold print "DO NOT REFRIGERATE" on the cups and asked if he had any more in the back, which they didnt. sucks.

also stopped by and checked on the beardy they have still, looks mega stressed and was shedding. wayyyy too big for its little tiny tank with no basking light. it looked like it was over 3-4 months easy.

I have seen that in my petco sooooo many times it's like who are you hiring?!!! They don't know anything about the reptiles and APPARENTLY they don't know how to read! I applied to them as I need a job but I am not sure about how much they pay... Maybe I can make a difference in the one thats right by me!

If I ever get in a bind and have to get feeders asap from a place like this (not my first choice!), I always look and count before leaving the store based on past experienced.

I just got back from the SuperPetz in Troy, Ohio.. I'd definitely suggest that place if any of you need a reptile to rescue. They keep ALL of their reptiles (geckos, iguanas, snakes, beardies, no matter what the age) on what looks to be wood shavings or crushed walnut shells. The only reptiles I saw that were moving even slightly were two baby anoles housed together, and their eyes were half open, they were very lethargic and all each one of them had was a water dish, no food. The iguana had food, but it was shedding and looked lethargic as well. I walked out of there before I got angry at someone. I was completely appalled at the condition of the reptiles.

I just went today to pick up some repta-aid which they didn't have and I ased an associate how much they made and if they had good benefits but neither is good even though I need a job it does me better to get hired. lol!

I'm not sure if it was petco or petsmart that we were at, but I was disgusted with the way they had the bearded dragon setup. My boyfriend and I were looking at the cage, and found a tiny dragon in there, probably no more than 4 inches (tail included!) and they had 3 giant crickets in there! my boyfriend said something to one of the workers and they said that they always feed the dragons like that and there hasn't been any problem. like it matters if there hasn't been a problem, there always will be if the crickets are bigger than the dragons head! ah....it was so frustrating and I hate when people don't listen about things like that.
