Is this normal?? Please tell me it's OK. I have been MAJOR busy today and I know CIndy (maybe even Barbara-I haven't looked at anything yet) updated everyone. THANK YOU FOR THAT!

Right now I am so worried. He is keeping his mouth slightly opened!!!!!

I was coming to the point where I could breath and get on here. I took pictures and sent the to my e-mail to upload. I was excited to tell everyone about how Pilot lifted his head today and Blazer took the syringe from me much calmer!!!!

Now I'm just plain scared again!! PLEASE tell me this is OK. If it's not normal, please...is there ANYTHING I should be doing!!!!

Hi. I was really excited to be able to post pictures of the little guys cause I think things are going well (even though my 6 year old says Pilot looks the same) I know he's stronger

I am very very freaked out right now though and, once again, could cry a rive and my stomach is in knots! G-D I hope you can tell me this is normal. I posted it but now replys yets. If him opening his mouth isn't godd...what can i do to help help!!!!
He looks better though?? Right?? He's getting better! G-d I hope this is OK he's doing this.

My beardie does this all the time, from what I understand it is similar to a panting dog. (Correct me if I'm wrong guys, I don't want to mislead anyone!)

Usually that is just a sign of them thermoregulating themselves. What are the temps where he is at when he is doing that? (and I do think he looks better) :wink:

I appologize it took so long for me to get back on here! Ummm...I hate to say this but the temperature is being measured by 2 stick on thermometers on each side about 3 inches from the bottom. I can tell you what they said and say now. I'm not sure why but the temp has gone up in there today. It has been about 84-88 degrees or so and about 75 on the cool side. Today, it's been 95 on the hot side and about 84 on the cool side. I do need to go get a probe thermometer ASAP. I'm hoping to be able to go in the next couple hours.

As far as the temps RIGHT were he is, he's not directly underneath it, in fact, he's more on the cool side because he actually managed to scoot a bit to get OUT from that side. He is starting to look whiter though so I'm feeling like I want to put him back on that side!!

I also need to get(amongst other things!) a lamp to hold the MVL that has it's own stand. Right now from the screen, where it sits, to the bottom of the tank it's 14 inches which leaves not a lot of room for their basking and climbing in the future. Craigs list bound!! (thanks for that idea, cindy )

Hi Randi,

You mentioned the temps in the tank being warmer today. Are you using the mvb...if so, when did you start using it? Those bulbs can take a few days for the temps to level out and can fluctuate quite a bit. The stick on thermometers as you know are not giving you correct/accurate temps. You are going to be getting the digital thermometer tonight, correct? I cannot remember...did Diane tell you how to use the AcuRite thermometer once you get it?
