Finally!!! After 5 days of her digging and me worrying, Miss Fatty is laying her eggs!!! Right now we have 17 gorgeous eggs!!! I'm excited beyond words--shaking 2 bad to type!! Was beginning to wonder if something was wrong but she's had 3 nice warm soaks today since 6AM & she just started to pick up the pace of digging, getting more frantic than ever. I wonder if they have "labor pains" like we do??! This is her 2nd clutch & I lost all the 1st ones due to being outta town but I'm so glad I'm here for these and can save them! Has been a few yrs since I went thru this with Fatty's mother, Bo, and I think I'm more excited this time than b4!! One thing I noticed was that she's now started to dig with her snout which she's not done b4. There's dirt all in her nose so I hope she can breathe ok. She seems fine. I'm sure I'm just nervous!! Does any1 know how long it can take for her to fully lay this clutch? Will this go on all nite (is 9PM now)? Also, will she lay another clutch in another 3-4 weeks? This is her first time laying, 1st clutch was about a month ago. Thx! IM SO EXCITED!!!
