Hi all! Happy New Years to all of you! I need some info in regards to aging beardies. As many of you already know I rescue unwanted beadies, but ALL of my rescues do not have an exact age when I inquire them. I have been told that many of them are 3 or 4 years old; so I go by that. I guess my question would be, how does one know if a bearded dragon is in its senior years? I have a rescue, who I have had for at least 3 years and he eats and eats but it seems like he isnt gaining any more weight, in fact it looks like he is losing weight (I've noticed this is a short time). This beardie is one that I all my own and one of my success stories. I am new to the ageing beardie process. Any suggestions or advice would be useful to me. Thank you.

Hi Karen,
Unfortunately without a hatch date its mostly guess work. Now I have dragons I am keeping past their breeding years and they dont hold weight like they used to. Big Rhonda is a good example of that. At her peak breeding years she was 500 grams. Now she is a mear 380 grams.

That's a hard one, we got Digger 7 years ago from a breeder and at that time we were told he was one year old, he will be 8 years old and his weight flucuates from 425 to 453 grams, he has never been heavier than 453 grams. If he is cooperative this weekend I will weigh him again to see.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
