Oh my Lexia layed eggs!!!!

I woke up 2 hours later than normal went to turn on lights and i looked down at Lexia and a pile of eggs............... EGGS! She layed 20 I was in shock she will be turning 1 yr old on the 13th of this month.I didnt expect eggs. Might be why she lost her fat pads. She wasnt eating very well intill yesterday she wanted to eat and eat. She ate 10 3 inch supers and a 1/2 cup veggies. I guess she knew she would need all that energy laying those eggs. I didnt even notice all her moving and trying to get out of her viv because Lexia has always been a hyper beardie. So to us she was acting her normal self. Only thing diff was her loss in fat and her lack of wanting to eat. We have her soaking now. Poor little thing i dont know where all those eggs fit.... shes a tiny little thing.

Shes in the warm bath now she drank alot. We gave her calcium and plan on giving it again tonight. Do i feed her right away or wait a bit? Im so lost when it comes to this. Its my first batch of eggs. Non fertile eggs.

O poor girl! I would feed right away and let her eat all she wants also keep up on the extra calcium for a week or 2 and just keep an eye on her urates. Anymore help just ask.

Thank you Lance! She had me a frazzled mess this am. She didnt want to eat much just 2 worms so far. Keeping her good and warm. I hope she gets back to normal quickly. I just want to make sure im doing all i can for her.

Do you have liquid calcium or powder? My vet said that Lilly needed liquid while gravid, but I don't know for sure on that.

Im using the liquid for her. She loves the banana flavor so she will take it with no problems. I'll be giving it 2 times a day for a few weeks. I just ordered her new Mega-Ray 100 watt bulb should be here in a few days that should help too.

I had read your post the other day about her loss in appetite and all. I had wondered could she be gravid, then I thought no way she's just a baby :lol:
How is she doing? Has she eaten anymore for you?

Oh my! she looks just like my Star, same approx age, too. Probably just over a year. I just posted about how she wasn't eating but she just got a new viv so we think she's just stressed. Its stuff like like this is what worries me so much. That must have been quite the surprise this morning. Hope your girl is doing good. Extra hugs from us - Liz

We have been giving her the extra care and snuggles. Her eating picked up she ate a total of 12 supers through out the whole day. We added some pedialyte to her baths we gave her two today. Shes not moving around to much but to bask move herself 4 inches out of the light and back into it again to bask. I nuked her rice pillow we made for her and i sat her at the back door her fav place in the world. She pancaked and just watched outside for a while. I cant believe she laid eggs myself she isnt even a yr yet. I think the thing that shocked me the most is where in the heck did she fit those 20 one inch eggs... Shes a small girl.
Her head is only 2 inches wide and her body is 3 inches wide by 7 long. She wasnt even fat :shock:

This i guess was her gravid yesterday lol

Christy, what a lot of people dont understand is the eggs inside are very soft. And they are packed very tightly together, with the fat around the area it is hard to feel them. That is why it is very important that you be extra gentle if you rub the belly that you dont rupture the eggs inside. Once they hit the air they start to dry out and harden up and breathe.
