I planned on building a window box for the beardies to give them extra UV exposure (waiting on new arcadia lights) but will nylon screen completly nullify the point of it?
PS i live in an apartment without a balcony)
Nylon screen will intercept most of the UVB but the glass in the window will intercept all of it. Window seats/boxes are good though. I give my guy time in the window to look outside and get a bit of UVA during the day. You just want to have a good UVB source available as well.
I was hoping to make it like those catios, having it overhang outside the window for no glass interception. We have 16 hatchlings and 23 more hatching soon and since we live in an apartment it's near impossible to bring them out for light. We are waiting on Arcadia lights and are stuck with uv 150 coils. If I were to just make it out of wood should I be worried about them somehow getting out?
Do you have access to the roof of the building ? is it flat ?
.... maybe you can take them there and have them in rabbit hutch type enclosures with wire mesh of a hole size they can't get through or use very large tubs (130L) with a shaded area and wire mesh to keep birds out on the top..
