Not Pooping

So, how long is too long for a dragon to go without having a poop? She has been laying around, but if I put her in the "feed bin" she does perk up and eats quite well. I have given her apple sauce and olive oil but to no avail. She has no hard spots on her, her belly feels soft as if all is good. There is no way she doesn't have a serious poop waiting to happen. It's been a week.

My suggestion would be to bathe her in warm water. Also ive read about beardies getting dehydrated and being constipated by a very large urate.
How mach calcium is in her diet?

I think we are always worrying about their pooping schedule, LOL, I know I am. I have 2 that go every other day or so. And, one that can go 2-3 weeks! When she goes, it's huge with a lot of urate, and poop to it. Vet says its ok.

I try everything too...warm baths, olive oil etc.

I do drive mine around in the car, sometimes in a pet carrier. I know this sounds CRAZY, but she seems to always go when we are in the car, and she is in that carrier.

OMG that's so freaking cute!! :D

Definitely try a warm bath with a little stomach massage. The fact that she's still wanting to eat is a good sign, and if she's having trouble climbing to her basking spot, try putting her there for a little bit and just monitoring to see if she's uncomfortable or not (e.g. stress marks, etc.). When my beardie is constipated, he hates trying to climb things!

I have one that can poo every day, but I believe perfers to poo every other day.

The other first long poo was 11 days. She freaked me out, gone to the vet. Found out she had worms. Now it's around 5 for each poo. Before it was about the same as her brother. I am not sure what stressed her out and changed her so much. Though it could have been my own anxieties at the time. i.e. Fights on the phone around her. The second time she went a long time with out pooing, was 8 days. They switched my schedule to morning for about 2 weeks. The only thing is, I do feel hardness in her belly, but it's like it's sitting there and she's holding it, or not ready to pass it, if that makes sense. I normally notice the hardness a day or two before she poos. She seems like a very sensitive beardie, i.e. always wanting me to hold her. Most of the time when I walk in the room her beard is white until I don't walk over and pick her up. Then she gets a stressed beard. Once I pick her up it goes away and then when I put her down it comes back. I feel manipulated sometimes, but I know she just wants love.

Should I be worried about her pooing schedule? Do you think she could be holding her poo for attention? Are beardies that smart? I mean they get on a routine. They notice that you do certain things if they do certain things. I mean I'll bath her more if she's not passing poo. i.e. Time with mommy! What do you think?

Could have something to do with safety and being less stressed and also you being much warmer than the floor etc etc..

No, they are for sure not that smart - it has something to do with not being able to relax in her cage probably to be honest. Do you try to leave her in the quiet a bit? Have you actually gone for a fecal sample (of all parasites)? Is basking spot warm enough? (I presume so)... Otherwise, just bath regularly for 15-20 minutes in warm water and just let her relax. Mine always poops the morning after this basically (as I do it in the evening right at bedtime). [/quote]

For you, I would also check temps, try to measure them with probes.
Also make sure UVB is close enough so she can digest properly and grow.

Other than that I would really recommend a fecal test, I tried everything and then finally did a fecal - all my concerns was confirmed - she had loads of pinworms! (Meaning, I did not do anything wrong necessarily!)... Trust me, it is worst those 20-30 bucks you pay. If the stomach is upset you can also try some soy yogurt.

My guy poops quite healthy when in the car... Although I think it's more of a statement about my driving then anything else....

She's in her own viv, she was stressed more when she was with her brother.

She's in her cage all day. Except when I take her out and hold her for a bit. At the most about an hour, holding her. Yes, she's had a fecal, and she was full of worms and her and her brother have been treated. Yes, the basking spot if warm enough. I bath every other day, if not every day when she's running late on her pooing schedule.

She pooed this morning. :) 6 days this week.

Well mine pooped last night finally, yay! Hopefully she will poop in her cage now, if she does I will collect that for a fecel. I would rather not fish it out of water if I don't have too. It was kind of funny because I had her sitting in the tub, post belly rub, and decided to see if there was a youtube video on it. In case there was some technique to it. The one video I found had the owner "pouring" warm water (with fingers) on his dragon to relax him. I tried that and not 3 mins later she let it out. I think it was coincidence because she did not seem to relaxed by it.

Either way I was happy. I let her snack off my dubai nymph colony after that and she must have ate 50 of them. They were the tiny ones (also for geckos) but all I could think is that I needed to start doing some serious bulk ordering, ha! Hopefully my roach colony takes off soon!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
